I'm running a pretty normal WW/Sprint/Crit Barb in Act III, using Bash(Instigation) to jump start the fury engine / keep WotB up when fighting bosses (when needed) and I'm wondering if there's any value to trying Frenzy(Maniac)?
On the one hand, Frenzy looks like a great skill, and the Maniac buff would be an awesome all-around boost, but on the other hand, I worry that Frenzy doesn't give enough Fury to work with WW AND that the Maniac buff would expire when WWing anyway.
Has anyone tried this?
I use frenzy-sidearm solely due to goblins.
But I don't use WW. I use furious charge instead. Just posted my build/guide in these barb forums.
Peace
I use it. It's great for goblins and any situation where WW just isn't feasible. It works fine for fury generation; a couple crits and you are good to go. Maniac and Sidearm runes work equally well.
Frenzy by itself can be very useful and if you can keep it up with the maniac rune that extra damage obviously helps.
It kinda depends on you and your gear though. If your gear is really good you can get fury with frenzy and kill a lot of mobs with ww with the frenzy dmg buff before it runs out. If your damage is lower you'll be somewhat forced to frenzy once every few seconds to keep it up and then ww again.
yes its a must have because there are so many mobs that split up or need to be single dpsed down
with 45% crit (55% w/ wotb) u can have infinite wotb just by hitting something with frenzy and spamming sprint to use up rage, im at 36k dps with wotb up and i can pretty much facetank any elite pack simply by standing there
only vs arcane packs do i kite around and use double ww
and also illisuion packs ill double ww to kill the mirrors then back to frenzy
