On to Nightmare, any advice?

So I've made it through normal with my first HC character. I have a level 32 wizard with abouth 500 dps. I definitely like HC more now that I've played it. Any advice for Nightmare would greatly appreciated.

you have good dps, NM isnt too hard just be cautius and not rush it.

I'd say 500 is a bit low actually. I'm guessing you haven't found any NM weapons though. Once you do that will improve. If you can't wait, check the gold AH.

Every time you go up a difficulty the gear improves dramatically.

Yup just lost him at level 33. I was running the tristram cathedral with a monk and got cornered. I was just finishing a champion and he opened the door and there was an elite behind it. Next thing you know I was cornered and poof dead. So now I sit here itching to start a new character, but I feel I must actually accomplish something productive before I start lol.

Don't listen to those foolish voices telling you to do something productive. Sometimes, forcing yourself to get started again is the most difficult part of losing a character in HC... If you've already got the itch to start a new character, then you should run with it!

The productive things will still be there for future you to deal with later.
