Questions regarding upgrading my monk

Hello,

I started out making my monk with the 200k build video by thehealthygamer. Act1 is pretty easy except if I run into those mace swinging elite turds with crazy affixes but act2 has been a real pain. I can clear the trash easily but the further I progress into act2, the worse I do on the elite mobs. I spent several hours dying and finally got my monk to the beginning of act3 but I get totally raped there. I've been farming act1 trying to get stuff to sell and finally sold my first 2mil item today. I currently have the most money I've ever had so I'm looking to make some upgrades to my gear so I can progress further.

The skills I'm using are MoE/Hard Target, FoT/Thunder, SW/Cyclone, Serenity/4sec, Breath of Heaven/15% more dmg for 45 sec and Dashing Strike/10 spirit cost (for moving around, getting out of molten/desecrator/etc.)

I know I need to upgrade my resists and DPS but all the upgrades I've tried made things worse or I couldn't tell much of a difference. Like here's a few items I've thought about changing out.

The belt looks better than the string of ears but I dunno if it'd be worth dropping the dmg reduction. I've tried looking for an upgrade on my weapons but the only upgrades i can afford are on slow weapons and I'd rather not drop more IAS since I can tell a big difference from when I started out using 70 dex/7% IAS rings. 1.6 IAS seems kinda like the lowest to go.

Should I swap out the string of ears for the belt or look for a different one? Should I use the IAS/Crit Dmg/Crit Chance gloves instead of the ones I'm currently using? Any other possible suggestions to upgrading my gear that'd make Act2 easier?

I'm liking my monk more than my demon hunter. I'd like to keep getting better but I need some input because when I tried upgrading my demon hunter on my own, I wasted alot of money and didn't make many gains.

I don't have any advice for you, but I will be watching this thread.

I was also inspired by the 200k challenge and although my dps/crit chance is lower, I have higher res. As a result, I was able to faceroll Act 1. Not that large of a feat on its own, but the monk has been my easiest toon to play in inferno thus far.

Im no expert but my guess is your res is to low and your life is to low and ill be following this thread also ;-)

do you play in public games or solo with a follower? if solo hire enchantress with armor & speed buffs from her skills. your armor seems low.

try to get more dps and HP. 20k is too low for a3. try to get at least 30, best 35-40k. better dps is very hard without a good weapon. try for 800+ ones.

i would use that rare belt instead of legendary. and continue using your gloves.

dunno if you dont prefer but try a shield&weapon setup maybe with more defense&resistance&crit chance (from shield)
