Just read about it on demonbuddy forum and checked Blizzards forums to see any evidence. Found many deleted treads about the issue.
Would be interesting to discuss whatever botting is good or bad for the game and the ethics implications about botting on the 21st century.
Personally id prefer my sons to do some other things apart from playing a computer video game for hours, too much of anything is baaaad, video games too.
Is Diablo 3 addictive?
Should it be more rewarding with the people who dedicates more hours? to what degree?
On the other hand i understand botting rewards a minority with an unfair advantage, but, as some others point out, does it really hurts the game? or relieves the economy and helps people play without the need of the rmah?
What'sthe number of botters considered god for the economy and when there are too many of them and the game dies?
So, here comes the dilemma: to bot or not to bot? What's your point?

Botters should be banned, and prevented from ever creating a Battle.net account again - hell, prevented from ever creating a game account again. If that was only possible :/
Has to be peoples own sensible choice not to play too much. Unless you live in China of course, then someone might help you make the right choice.
Good game design is when you can find the items you need for progress yourself, in reasonable time, without getting frustrated. No need for wallets and bots. I know it's a new and sensational idea but it's brilliant if I say so myself
Having a ****ed up item sytem doesn't justify botting. Not under any circumstances.
It's just blizzard's way of trolling everyone, since it's nigh imposible to actually get gear for yourself within reasonable playing times. I'm talking about casuals like myself. You are basically forced to go and spend money on the RMAH if you don't wanna be stuck on a1 inferno for 3 months grinding gold until your nose bleeds. Does botting relieve some of this problem ? Sure, it inflates the economy. But wouldn't fixing the item system fix it all and be a better overall solution to the problem in the first place .. ?
If that was the case more and more people wouldn't quit day to day. But I suppose there are people hooked to solitaire also ..Is Diablo 3 addictive?
As disappointing as D3 is, I never have and never will condone botting. All they do is flood the economy with gold so the price of items goes up like 300%+, and in a game that is super item dependent to progress, this makes much of the top gear out of reach for many players. The wealthy players exploit the economy without lifting a damn finger while the poor players suffer. Gee, reminds of the system we live in in real life.
The rampant botting, duping (yes, there is duping) and even cracked versions of Diablo 3 is just an insult. Why is the game $60? I honestly want somebody to give me a god damn good reason why this game cost $60 and was touted for its secure, online-only gaming model. It's no more secure than Diablo 2 and D2 had free services.
As i reminder, botting its not only used to farm gold but items too, so yes, the economy can be flooded with gold but as a counterpart is also flooded with items, underpricing them. (offer/demand).
So i dont agree with you on that bots make top gear exclusive for the wealthy players, it happens just the opposite.
Just informing here, i neither condone nor support botting, im neutral.
Maybe in other games, but in D3 bots farm for gold much more than items, since drop rates on the highest end items are so astronomically low anyway. The wealthy players on D3 thus have far more freedom on the AH than the average person does. I currently have about 3 mill gold as a legit player, and it isn't nearly enough to make ANY upgrade for my main for even one slot.
If botting made game better, how about maybe designers would actually allow it, huh?
No, wait, here:
**** botters.
