My crazy long term goals

Sorry, didn't see this until now, having been uncharacteristically playing Diablo more than reading the forum. Awesome idea, of course, but one question comes to mind: How do you plan to do Arctic/Vidala's, as they are normal bows that can't be upgraded? Rely on merc/Valk? Something decent on switch (which is the obvious choice but would break the set)? Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't know if he has made plans for it already, but these might be good options for FA or immo arrow or something, though I know they're pretty skill dependent. Of course, you're a ranged attacker, so who cares how weak your damage is :P

Arctics is the best thing since sliced bread between levels 5-20. I used it on all my characters ( except Barb, who used Death's ).
Vidala's is crap.

Yeah, it's levels 20-85ish that I was wondering about.
Maybe I should just wait for the Guardian thread.

I don't know what the OP's plans are but the obvious way to guardian a character with the Arctic Set would be to make a purely elemental bowazon (Magezon) that does not rely on physical damage. Although by stacking elemental damage from the equipment (mainly the helm?), crushing blow, open wounds etc. one could think of a very stylish FA/Strafe build as well.

That was the plan for arctic set basically. Freezing arrow and Immo. Maybe make use of an item to increase freezing duration. with helm and boots free using G-face and goblin toe/gorerider to increase CB to a respectable level as well. It could always be fun to spend 1/2 hour killing a stoneskin boss with GA in hell though so I'm not completely sold yet on going the magezon route.

With Vidala's I might go a similar route. Being able to get 100% pierce with the set bonuses should be a bonus over arctic gear. I considered stacking slows target. I really didn't get too far in the thought process for this one yet though. Having things walking towards you might be safe, but it doesn't kill them. So I would have to end up relying on elemental skills for the kills anyways.

I know I want to use very high stacked slows target % on at least 1 build. If it doesn't end up on vidala's it will on something.

Vidalas set allrdy gives freeze target, so I dont rly see why you would want slow at it, just for those few bosses that cant be frozen? freeze+pierce rly asks for immolation arrow in my opinion. Sadly the amulet slot is allrdy taken by the set costing you the +2 to skills you would normally get here.
