You don't need high dps to kill him. My 5th alt Witch Doctor with throw away gear from my 3rd alt wizard and paltry 22k dps can face tank him in the middle of poison clouds in 4man games. All you need is 600LoH and a spammable ability with a 100% LoH coefficient and you will not die.
