And how it scales to dmg output?
You mean how much? Isn't reflect just a random number?
Dunno, I think it's like a percentage roll on elites.. But I could be wrong and it's just some static percent depending on elites type.
There's a list of LoH healing amounts per tick for every spell and rune..
Archon:
-Arcane Destruction: 20% on explosion per target hit
-(Archon beam ability): 25% per target per tick
-(Archon melee ability): 50% per target hit
-(Archon explosion ability): 20% per target hit
So, 25% is healing amount. Does anybody know the maximum percentage of elites reflect damage?
That would be interesting to know indeed. Are you trying to get as much life steal to neglect the reflect?
Resist all / armor greatly help against reflect damage. Especially since archon gives you a further boost to them. A good archon set should have pretty high resists and armor anyway, since you do a fair bit of face tanking as archon, so reflect damage really shouldn't be that big of a deal.
In archon form I have 1300 res all and 8.5k armor. Reflect damage does very little to me. If you're super worried about it you could use an LoH swap weapon, but it is hardly needed.
I read some place that in inferno it reflects 2%. I do 40k dps and regenerate 1,5k per sek, and I have about 75% mitigation from resists and armor together. That should make 800 dmg reflekted per sec, meaning I'll notice it when hitting 3 enemies... seems about right with my observations.
If it gets really bad that you can't handle it with your normal gear just put on a 20-30% block shield. If you have enough gear to farm the act you're playing in you shouldn't even need it for every reflect damage elite pack, as most should have low enough HP to die before your HP+potion (plus a little bit of health regen) run out. Getting more armor/resist/loh may help, but it is quite an investment if you only need it for those few special cases of elites that reflect too much damage AND have too much health for you to kill them before the reflection is an issue. Again assuming you're geared enough to farm that area.
If you're running as an archon you want good resists and armor anyway, so it isn't a wasted investment. You're going to do a fair amount of face tanking as an archon - the whole playstyle is explode them before they explode you. You don't really kite so you can't glass cannon. As I said before if you have enough resists/armor to do archon spec effectively, damage reflect groups won't be a problem anyway.
I mean investing in more than what you would normally need to kill non-reflecting packs. If you have that, then getting more just to handle reflect damage packs is indeed expensive. But yeah, when I played with archon in act 2 before I switched to critical mass, reflect packs were rarely a problem. Then again, some would still make me feel better when I switched to a shield as they seemed to simply reflect too much.
