You have got to be kidding yourself if you think people are enthralled with this game. While good, it's more of a one time experience due to the lack of end game features.
Ironically, Blizzard catered to the non-hardcore fans a bit too much by eliminating "complex" features from D2. What we have now are hardcore players turned off by the game and casuals who have beaten the game and moved on.
That's just the way things are. Nothing at all wrong with that. Individuals will flock to the next best thing, plain and simple.
CaF, that may or may not be true. It WILL cause a ton of people who own the game to pick it back up for a week or so, maybe two if the griefing element is at least a little fun. This may even cause some server/tech pressure, if the return is massive enough, causing a whole new wave of server error QQ whining.
The idea--------------------- "people that dislike this game are a small vocal minority"----------- simply is not true.
Sure, MANY people like the game and play it, but there is also a fair amount of people who do not like the game. It is not simply 95% like it vs 5% don't like.
The proverbial ball was dropped in a major way on this one. We're talking a screw-up the magnitude of Bill Buckner. It absolutely stands to reason that as more people get deeper into the game, more people will get fed up and stop playing. As more people stop playing, less people will be posting. The ones that were left are the people still working at it, those that 100% enjoy the game in its current state, or the people like me that honestly don't have the ability to just go play another game.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want Diablo 3 to be a success, and I sure hope that Blizzard turns this around. It's just that it absolutely stands to reason that people are leaving in droves, and due to it people that make their money indirectly off of the game need to do whatever they can to keep people playing.
With that in mind, I've frequented this site for years (more than even the join date says due to forgetting an e-mail address and username used years before the new account), and I don't personally think the people that run this site would purposely mislead by being overly cheery.

that could suggests that this site's members are more intelligent, more discerning and are not a bunch of fanboys
when even these people are leaving the game, http://www.forcestrategygaming.com/c...aying-diablo-3
its not surprising to also see a drop in visitors to the most honest diablo fan forum on the web
not if Blizzard does a good (EXCELLENT) job with PvP
however, if PvP isn't PERFECT, then yes, much hate and b****ing will occur
"we waited an extra six months for this ! they could have released this crap back in May!"
so Blizzard may have dug themselves a hole by delaying PvP; the extra time means PvP has to be extra awesome (and I really hope it is; it looked so much fun in the demos; its what I was waiting for more than anything)
Yeah, I would say the number of viewers visiting the site is dropping...

Diablofans are actually doing ok:

It's not strange, while I was playing D3, I was here every few hours, but since I stopped playing I rarely visit.
Strange that they moved this thread to "Feedback and Troubleshooting" subforum. I thought it was perfectly fine in GC.
