IP Game Stuck At "Please Wait"

Recently my brother and i started playing D2 and would like to play together on an IP game but every time either of us try to join the others hosted game it gets stuck at the "Please Wait" screen and doesnt seem to even try to load. We are both on laptops and on the same home networks wifi. We are both on Windows 7 and run the game as administrator. We have tried using Gameranger and forwarding our routers ports and still nothing. If anyone can give any sort of help that would be great.

If it helps our router is a Linksys E4200
