How much MF do you play with and farm with?

i dont wantt o flat out say youa re wrong but form testing it seems

a1 - 1/10 are ilvl 63
a2 - 2 / 10 are ilvl63
a3 - 4 / 10
a4 - 8 / 10

so you see it double every act so farming act2 in no way gives u more 63 per hour unless u can clear it 8 times as fast, and in endgame gear a3 clear is as fast and smooth as an a1 clear

Where did you get these numbers? They completely contradict my findings. I get about the same in act 3 and 4. If those numbers were correct then nobody would be farming act 3 anymore over act 4.

I would like to know where he got those numbers also. Even when people were wizard bug farming a4 last night we saw nothing even remotely close to what he is claiming.

On top of contradicting yourself (even with the 'odds' you post, killing A2 elites twice as fast nets the same number of ilvl 63 as killing A3 elites), those are very fanciful odds for ilvl 63 items dropping. For once Blizzard actually gave us something resembling real data on a subject, back in the 1.03 patch notes:

Inferno - Act I

iLvl 61: 17.7%
iLvl 62: 7.9%
iLvl 63: 2.0%


Inferno - Act II

iLvl 61: 18.6%
iLvl 62: 12.4%
iLvl 63: 4.1%


Inferno - Act III and Act IV

iLvl 61: 24.1%
iLvl 62: 16.1%
iLvl 63: 8.0%

As you can see, A3 & A4 drop less than twice as many ilvl 63 items as A2 and only 30% more ilvl 62 and ilvl 61 items. If you can farm A2 packs twice as fast with more mf gear and more safety you are better off doing so.

oh no, you are just having a hard time believing that people farm a3/a4 with the same mf as you, possibly even quicker, but believe it my friend people are doing it

i'm not hating on you at all, I'm just letting you know once you progress far enough a3/a4 is the place the farm

if your goal is to farm a2 for the rest of your life, by all means, continue doing it not everyone wants to be efficient as possible, some simply have fun .. doing whatever ..

Karth you are correct if you can kill elite packs twice as fast in act 2 and in act 3/4 you are better off in 2. And doubly so if you can wear MF gear as it will increase your chance of getting 6 and 5 mod rares.

I have 115mf + 11mf from my Enchantress with 46k dps unbuffed, 51k health, 8600 armor, 750-812 AR. I have a very nice balance of kill speed, mf, survivability.

@Peter I don't get what you are carrying on about. Obviously its better to farm act 3/4 if you can do with with MF and a high kill speed. But as Karth stated if you can kill things twice as fast in act 2 as act 3/4 you are better off, the numbers from the patch notes prove it.

I never argued that A3 wasn't going to be better once you reached a certain point in gear. You seemed to be suggesting that it was never better to run A2 if you could also run A3 or A4, which is incorrect. I can do both quite well but profits are higher in A2 because I kill much faster, safer, and with significantly more MF in A2.
