We've all seen the NT and the Impale and the Frost Arrow and the Ball Lightning and the Cluster Arrow. What I want to know is: do you have a fun, viable non-typical build? Multishot, Rapid Fire, rocket-themed (Cluster is okay but try experimenting with other stuff!), trap-themed, "gadget"-themed, Impale-less critical-hit theme, no-hatred-spender, double-generator, super kitey, super tanky, Stun themed, CC-themed?
I'd like to see your ideas! Here's something I threw together, I'll call it... uh... Bone Stun!

I'm using the typical build but with razor discs instead of the boring spenders, if it's non-typical enough.
Hungering Arrow is the only skill we share - different runes though but I'll probably go to Spray of Teeth when she hits 52 also.
I'm a big fan of traps, bombs and general boomage so my builds never seem to be like other demon hunters. But I have fun using it. I like getting groups set up and then offloading Stampede then planting Lightning Rods in front of me so when they walk forward after getting knocked back they set the trap off.

Interesting, Lightning Rod does seem quite cool. I've yet to actually reach the level for Spray of Teeth too, but if it looks anything like the name suggests it should be pretty awesome.
Double-Chakra's. I don't know why this is shunned in every build I see. With a high-damage 2 hander, they mow stuff down whole screens at a time. Even in Act 1 Inferno they are weed-whacker mode. Hatred cost is really not too high so you can blow them off forever. They also dont seem to be working as intended because walls and stuff are supposed to stop them but most of the time, they will keep zipping down a passage even if its not wide enough for them when they twirl around. They do 100% weap damage each and most mobs are hit by both of them, seemingly multiple times. With huge packs they usually just whiz off the screen and the mobs stop. When I walk where they went, its a field of health globes....
I think this might be one of the odder builds out there, at least as far as combination of active skills go:
Primary: Cinder Arrow [120% LOH proc]
Secondary: Nether Tentacles (Inferno)/Twin Chakrams (Hell)
1: Shadow Power/Gloom
2: Caltrops/Jagged Spikes
3: Fan of Knives/Retaliate
4: Rain of Vengeance/Dark Cloud
Passives: Brooding (Inferno)/Numbing Traps (Hell); Archery; Sharpshooter
It's actually fairly effective, although I admit I haven't spent much time past Act I of Inferno.
Tank DH - tried it out of boredom yesterday after not playing for a week ..
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...Ygk!VeX!ccbbYc
barely spend a penny on this specific build - most of the gear is from my main Monk thus this "tank" (DH) has only ~260 AR but 600 fire ress ( my monks OWE resi of choice )
other stats 50 k HP 5,5 Armor 1300 LOH 38% dodge 20 block 27 k dps ( 1h xbow + Shield ) 38 crit ( important for nightstalker )
I currently only have a crappy 1h Xbow with 860 Dps 650 LOh ~150 str and 10 disc
all in all it should be fairly easy to attain up to 600 all res +200 phys res and ~10 more crit ( overall 50 crit should be easily attainable with 1h xbow archery )
(maybe even a shield with uo to 29 block ? + helm of command ? either way i think shield is severly underrated for dh )
however yesterday i finished a3 + rakanoth with this specc and fairly modest gear - not without dying but than again the gear was fairly crappy ... i could imagine this to work very reliably
with said 600 resi + bonus phys res + ~30 block +1000-1500 Loh. -
after that i would try to push offesive stats. I could also imagine this specc to work with dual wield 1h crossbow. but you would need 2 fairly impressive Xbows to offset the benefits of a shield for this particular specc ( iam thinking 900 dps / 750 Loh / ~100-150 critdmg each)
Edit: well rolled Nat set would also be a huge plus. i mean 2 disc reg and 7 crit is nothing to snort at.
especially 2 disc reg should help you to face tank bosses. because vs normal mobs you mostly have enough disc due to the high amount of nightstalker proccs.
