Killed Inferno Diablo, lost all motivation. Sold half my gear for 160.00 sterling on the RMAH. Bought two crates of wine...ahhh result. Can still farm act 2 with only half my gear and bare chested.

    Re: A Fond Farewell

Just an update. Spent my 3 million gold on all new gear with INT, VIT and MF. Farmed Act 1 all night, jumped into Act 2. Some packs are easier but anything vortex/invulnerable/molten just rapes me. Had a lot of fun searching and bidding all night. Not much fun playing. Still amazed that any decent weapon is going for SO much on the AH.

At this point, some Lacuni and Doom Viper packs are so frustrating, I just don't care anymore. Here's hoping the DIII devs do SOMETHING to bring people pack. Right now, sadly, my faith is in Torchlight II, Grim Dawn and POE.

What a bunch of bull. I played through act 1 at most once a day and I've managed to accumulate 7mil gold. How can you manage to farm Inferno for "weeks" and not have more gold then me is baffling. I get 100k just from gold drops in a run, not to mention the 30-50k from essence. The game may not be what it should, it maybe flawed or broken I don't know, but you sir are doing something very, very wrong or just plain lying if all you could get is 3mil from WEEKS of farming.

PBGUY - I unlocked all stash spots and finally got my Staff of Herding and upgraded it instantly to Hellish. I also wasted a ton on repairs beating my head against Act 2.

I realize some people make MUCH more gold but also realize, a lot are in my same boat.

So you are just doing something very, very wrong then. I've unlocked all stash slots as well. Why, why would you upgrade staff of herding? If you can't even do act3 what hope do you have against whimseyshire inferno? And whats the point of doing it in hell mode?

I see you are a wizard. You should be able to get decent enough armor and resists to get into ACT2 fairly cheaply. Depending on whether you 2hand or 1hand+source/shield you have 8-9slots to fill. The 3mil you had is NOT enough. Shoot for at least 7-10mil before even looking at the AH. That will give you around 800-1200k for each piece.
What a lot of people do is they search for AllResist/INT/Vit on each item (you may also want to looking into crit chance/dmg) DONT do that, those items are very overpriced until you get into the 20mil+ range, they aren't worth it for someone with a low budget.
Gear in this game is irrelevant as the only good things are rares and legendarys/sets are under powered. What you want are good stats. Set yourself some goals
    e.g.
    500AR
    1500INT
    700VIT
(if you want to add crit chance/dmg)
    HP Regen 1000
Once you have your goal look at the items that are selling within your price range, go for items such as INT/AR/HPRegen or VIT/AR/CRit Chance, etc. Don't stack everything up on one item, you get less value this way. One good way to do this is to stack VIT on Ring/Ammy/WEP as those tend to go for cheaper when they don't have damage increasing values and just stack INT on everything else.

Finally when you are looking at items, it is suggested to go for the 1day 11hour items as they are new and fresh. Stuff that is good and fairly priced gets snapped up quickly so go and check every hour or two. You want to be the one to snap up that great deal. There are plenty of other resources for wizard builds, I suggest you read the stickies in the subforum, if you haven't already.

Play some D2 during your break from D3. I just started a new sorc and did some Meph runs for few hours(only thing that stopped me was the temporary restriction). Ridiculous, repetitive, nonsensical and insanely fun. I feel dirty like I just did a drug binge LOL

Well if you put it down for a while Digital that's understandable I am sure they will sort it out eventually. There is a TL2 and POE forum here so don't be a stranger

    TL2 forum : http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/f...hlight-1-amp-2

    Re: A Fond Farewell

I don't know what pieces of gears you bought, but I spent 3 millions on my Wizard and she just finished ACT 2 today, it wasn't too frustrating but takes a bit of concentration to pull off.

    This is her stat.

She started with pretty much nothing when she reached level 60, I think it might be harder for people with existing gears already.

When I was gearing her, I picked the affixes that can only spawn on specific pieces and went from there, i.e. I knew glove would be my biggest source of damage with the possibility of crit hit/crit/AS/Main stat. So I picked a glove that only has Main stat + Crit hit/crit, sacrificing AR and vit, this gave me a lot cheaper deal.

Another example is that I picked up a 75 AR shoulder with 60/70 vit and intel for 100k, I know I could get higher shoulders but they simply cost too much, and I can supplement the damage/vit from other pieces etc, I picked up my helm as crit/vit/intel, cost me 90k.

-items with Vit/AR/(damage stat) is expensive, but picking 2/3 is a lot, lot cheaper and more effective.

Don't spend money on "perfect" gears, plan out your hero's build and you could create a powerful character with just a few millions of gold!

For Lacuni and Viper, it's really your situational awareness and always keep moving.

I am not sure which build you are using at the moment, my friend did a melee wizard build with just ~15% crit chance (easy to achieve) and could tank everything. I went with the traditional Hydra/BLizzard build with mirror image(replicates). If you hear/see the invisible movement of the viper, instantly split, with Force armor and Illusionist, you will never get one shotted by them, and these mirror images will lure them out.

For Vortex and Invul, I have to say, just kite it around something, never, ever (I have seen so many Wizards do this) kite by just running backwards for these 2 affix, you NEED to have something between them and you, for it a hole on the ground, rubbing against the pillars, walk against the rocks. This will greatly reduce the effect of Vortex and slow down the enemies by a lot. Only stop, if you have mirror images up, split, drop hydra/blizzard, DPS until 1~2 images left, run in circle again.

If there's a jailer? Always save mirror image, even if it's tempting to split up and DPS for a few seconds, don't use it offensively unless the situation allows it.

Which follower are you using? I was running with Enchantress, but decided that Templar is a lot more useful with the free hp regen and several emergency heals.

But a break is a good thing =) Hopefully this game would be like D2, I am sure not many people played it daily for 10 years, most would come back on and off!

Also, use the forum!! I found 2 pieces of her items on the forum, it cost a lot less than the AH and you can barter trade if you wish.

    Ring:
    69 intel, 4.5 crit cost me 200k and Bracer 70 vit, 77 intel, 46 fire, 70 AR, 200life/sec, 13 MF (for!!! merely 400k, a freaking steal!)

    Re: A Fond Farewell

pbguy's and Slax's posts are two very informative "how to play the game" posts. That is, if you actually want to be informed on how to play the game. Kind'a reminds me of SCII. Got raped in 4 minutes by a protoss swarm of six soldiers. Went on the forums *****ing about it, got a reply a couple'a seconds later with, "How to beat the Protoss zerg". I quit playing that night. Or the beta, I should say. In interest of all fairness.

It was at that moment that I knew that SCII would be exactly like the first SC. E-sport.

But now, I've come to realize that all Blizzard games are becoming like this. Blizzard is the next implementation of SOE. That is to say that Blizzard, just like SOE before it, is an e-jock (see below). They thought they could do no wrong. That might made right, and not the other way around. I mean, SOE left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't touch anything with a Sony brand name on it. Not a TV, not a DVD player, not even a damned toaster oven. Oh well. See ya Blizz. What? Oh yah, let me see your e-peen again. That's very impressive. Now, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go back to ME3, DA:O, and Firaxis' next game XCom (with tentative excitement, crossing fingers). You see, because a rabid fanboi can just as easily turn into a rabid fanboi for the next company.

E-jock : A person, or a company, who exceeds in e-sports, or making of them, and making fun of people who can't or don't want to. Stating for their reasons all the same reasons that the jock gave the geek on "why he wasn't cool" in high school. "Because you have no idea of how to be cool..." "Because you're doing it wrong..." "Because pain makes it all better..."

Case in point. EQ. SC & SCII. Bloodline Champions. DotA. Counterstrike. TF & TF2. LoL. And now, obviously, D3.

Well, if that's your case, then **** you. I don't wanna be "cool". I'm a gaming geek. Not a e-jock who wins because he produces more mod rods, SCV's, who hits each combo perfectly each time, and hides in a trashcan to oneshot some asshat n00b. I don't wanna play your games. And I don't.

Suppose I should tell y'all the reason I'm here. Kind'a out of boredom, kind'a out of the sadistic nature of seeing the jock getting his *** kicked in high school (for those enough that were lucky enough to see it). But mostly because my CPU fan is only running at ~3000 RPM (instead of 5,000), which doesn't allow me to play any games ATM. I do have another computer on order, but for now all I can do is watch pornos and surf boards like this one. I need a new computer anyway. This old quad core 2.4GHz is finally showing it's age.
