Personally I've done 2700$ profit if fully cashed out. I miss the first couple of weeks when profit margins on cheap items were ridiculous, but new opportunities were discovered and the beat goes on! I can't wait for gold to be on the rmah, and am pleased that there was another mass bot banning yesterday. Granted they'll just fire up more accounts as bliz doesn't block the paypal account or IP but its better than nothing.

Congrats on that profit. I made more than my (somewhat pesimistic) expectations despite the EU being such a hostile ground for virtual trade compared to the US so overall I'm pretty happy even though I'm very far from your achievement.

$57.72 cashed out to date off about 70 hours of "farm".
I wasn't able to get my PayPal hooked up for the first week or two :/
All my good sales were done before, they went onto my bnet balance, then I used that to self-upgrade.
I'm trying to liquidate my gear. Doubt I'll break $100 though.

I cashed out about $140 so far, just to help pay some bills and buy some food. If I just sold everything I had I could get a lot more of course, but I'm not about to count chickens before they hatch. Besides, the real game comes when gold selling goes live. I've managed to make a bit with arbitrage from commodities, but now that is down to mostly getting lucky that someone buys when it is your turn in line. Once gold is selling there will be a bit of frantic adjusting, then after things settle we can see how much steady cash can really be made with this game.

find a niche, learn it. i made my first fortune on string of ears - about 70m profit back before the rmah was out and when 70m was a ton of gold. buy when things are mispriced, sell for what things are bought for.

also you gotta be ballsy i just spent 30m gold on a weapon... here's hoping it sells for a lot!

Don't worry too much about that. That's one of the big mysteries of life We never know why other people earn so much and we earn so little.

Of course, the Americas servers are way more active than Europe. I've makde 9€ so far, but I don't play all that much.

I think part of it for me is that I have a decent idea of what's a good DH item by having spent most of my time playing one, and it seems like DH is the predominant farming choice. So I may be servicing a more "invested" market.

There's a lot that comes from knowing what people use. I remember a buddy scoring a $100 sale, and when he described it he always said "100 RA for Monks" among all the different attributes. I had no idea he was talking about as I'd never seen that affix. It turns out Monks have a passive that bumps all their resistances to whatever their highest single one is.

So, if a Monk is stacking Resist Lightning, a bracer with 60 Resist Lightning and 40 Resist All is 100 Resist All for a Monk. If you get dex/vit/mf on there, you have a huge potential seller. I would have known that had I played a Monk to 60 or read up on builds. Instead I probably vendored tonnes of dex/vit/resist-x as though they were junk when they weren't.

Knowing builds will give you an eye for hot items.
