Well, yes, but isn't this logical? The better gear you have, the more rare your next upgrade going to be?

If you can reliably farm A2, you can beat the whole game. Slowly but surely. You have to remember, game ended in Hell back in D2. It didn't take much to beat hell there and it doesn't take much to beat hell in D3. Inferno is just a bonus difficulty for masochists. It's equivalent to farming 13 Windforces in D2.

You can say that Inferno should then be easier, or good loot should drop more often (and I'll agree with you!), but then you should be ready to get bored, because there is absolutely nothing else to do in this game but wait for PvP, should our wishes be granted.

What about those who won't PvP? There are a lot of people who will not do that "end game". So what is the 'end game" for them? I guess it is to get as far as you can until you get bored then break out another game.

Which is exactly what I expect from every other non-subscription based game.

yeah, that's true to a point. But in D3 you cannot beat the game unless you spend millions of gold on godly items or if you get so very lucky to get enough godly upgrades to beat inferno before you get bored.

Except you could still farm for that windforce at the last boss of the game and have that sense of accomplishment. It is also the fact that we are always searching for those perfect rares which many times were more rare than a windforce since it is a culmination of a perfect storm.

To me inferno reminds me more of WoW raiding than it does than d3. Where much of the population can do the 1st raid then fewer the second and then only the lucky and geared can do the 3rd etc. This is not what a d3 game is supposed to be in my humble opinion. And perhaps the AH is not the root of the issue but there is an issue when it comes to loot in this game.

Good loot should drop more often but rare uber loot should still be 1 in a million. As it stands now that good loot is 1 in a million (act3 viable loot) and uber loot is one in a billion or that is what it feels like.

BTW killed inferno Diablo this morning but it was bittersweet since I died about a dozen times getting there so it felt more like a grudge match. And he dropped a legendary pole arm of crappiness.

Hopefully Blizzard introduces more PVE endgame content... no idea. I mean, d2 had pretty much same issue, depending on how quickly you got bored of same acts over and over....

I don't know enough about D2 droprates to tell you if windforce is 1 in a million or 1 in a billion, but I feel that it's comparable to D3's endgame loot droprates.

I don't think AH is the issue. I love it, personally, because it allows me to keep 3 mules instead of 30, and adds a second "minigame" to the main game (as opposed to brutal WUG WUW variant of it back in D2).

So yeah, like I said, I agree that Inferno should be tweaked, as well as ilvl 63 loot stats/droprates. But at the same time I can see the reasons why Blizzard may not do either for quite some time, or do the tweaking their own "special" way.

Well the HC ah is still very active because of the loot loss from deaths and things sell there that would be vendor trash in SC. Talking with a few on mumble and hearing what they were selling was very interesting. On the SC side it is more of a lottery where only the top 1% of gear sells or is usable so it feels like a very different game from that perspective.

I played a lot of HC in d2 but I was expecting to be a bit further along in d3 before I switched sides but that is looking like it will come sooner rather than later as anticipated.

I absolutely think that HC is the superior experience in many senses, assuming you can handle losing a geared character due to server crash. Those allegedly happen all the time, although I've never experienced it in 450-500 hours of HC play. Once PVP is introduced, or alternatively more ways to play PVE endgame, I think SC could be fun again... for now though, IMO, HC is the way to go The community, I think, is also better, alot of more friendly and willing to share tactics.

This is exactly how it was in D2 so glad to hear it is the same in D3. I guess when I get a bit of time next week it will be time to start leveling.
