I just reached A3, had trouble with belial enraging but had a friend help me take him down. Outside of that nothing in A2 really gave me too many problems.
I realize this probably isn't near enough stats for A3, I really don't want to play "Glass Cannon" I got a little bored of that on a DH.
Stats:
I'm at 12.7k DPS
916 resist all
about 277 LoH(really low)
Running the same build as the monk that did the 200k challenge to clear A2.
What kind of stats am I going to be realistically looking at for A3? Most upgrades look insanely expensive from here on out.
Are u dual wielding? If u r, aim for higher LoH (maybe around 800+?) and try to get 2 attacks per second, or close to it. I would say make sure u get at least 1.4 speed weapons to make it easier to reach 2 APS. On your weapon u should look for a socket (personally I think it's a must) then either a decent amount of LoH, or crit hit dmg... any dex or vit is a nice bonus. Spirit Regen and Life per Spirit Spent are also nice bonuses to have.
Around 900-1k resist should be enough, if u can afford to get more then all the better. Otherwise aim for increasing your armor via pure armor stat, or dex. I recommend having at least 40k hps. U could probably get away with less but I don't feel comfortable having less than 40k. If u can afford to get more, then all the better.
Apart from that, aim for high dex, crit chance and crit dmg to get your dps up.
12.7 k dps seems way too low for me. Yesterday I finished act 2, with 19k. Can't comment on act 3, cause I need to farm a bit to get my res up. (only 670 now)
When I first entered act 3 I had:
12.5k dps
785 res all
8k armor buffed
1.72 asp (1hnd+shield)
1.1k LoH
44k life
This didn't feel right yet so I went back to farming act 2 which I'm still doing now. My biggest concern was the DPS so now I'm trying to increase it with extra crit dmg/crit chance gear. Right now these are my stats:
15.5k dps
815 res all
10k armor buffed
1.72 asp (1hnd+shield)
1.4k LoH
41k life
I'm almost confident enough to give act 3 another try now. Once I do I'll let you know how it went
Managed to get down to ghom without many issues. I got completely destroyed after 1 attempt. I'm gonna wait for a friend to help me with the fight. I get about 15k dps using the 15% dmg from the heal ability, no champ pack except 1 really enraged because a ton of other mobs decided to join in from kiting(those big axe skele's hurt)
Yeah, I need a lot more LoH and DPS. My weapon is about 830'ish with IAS, 180 dex, upgrading from that is going to be expensive as hell.
I got about 37k hp using mystic ally(earth)
9k armor with the deadly reach(armor buff rune)
Using a shield, not really a good one(blockwise) but has quite a bit of resists+dex+life
I dual wield 2 daggers, but if i drop one, my dps is still 15k with a sub 700 dps dagger, 1,84 aps, crit: 9%/94%, unbuffed. What i mean, that you don't need a very high dps weapon, but you can also improve your damage with crit, attackspeed% and more dex.
I did act 3 at about 740 res, 6k armor unbuffed, 21k dps, 150Lpss, 41%crit and 80loh. With Quickening equals about 1900 loh. If you want inexpensive stuff maybe try a crit Lpss build. However Loh stuff is tumbling in price at the moment so you might not have to wait too long to pick up a decent one.
I cleared (I did have to skip a few packs, Phase Beasts for example) act 3 and act 4 with 13k dps, and while I would definately want more, it is not necessary. This was with Conviction/Overawe however, so actual dps is obviously a bit higher.
U don't need a huge amount of dps, but it does help of course. I finished everything in Inferno when I was still at around 13k unbuffed dps. More dps just means u can clear faster... and I guess reducing the time of fighting means less chance of making a mistake.
