Re: Punished for grouping with friends?

I actually find this game pretty good with just two players. When I do drag myself to play, I often play co-op with a friend and it's pretty well-balanced. Things turn sour, though, once more players join because the screen turns into an indiscernible cluster**** due to the over-the-top skill/spell effects.

Completely agree, have more fun playing co-op with friends, although it bothers me that the risk vs reward is much better solo. I thought it was a standard in most games that 2 players should be able to tackle tougher content than a solo player (quad kiting in EQ excluded).

In the case of leechers or soloing stuff by yourself in a group game... if ppl had a problem with it in game, they could always just boot that person, so I don't think that should be a reason to need a sharing of MF. In fact if u think about it from another perspective... u could now just come in with 0 MF and leech off other people's MF anyway? Even the current way things are doesn't stop ppl from just following ppl around and doing nothing.

If you have 0 MF you'll have better stats..

Leaving MF personal makes tanks in group fights much worse, they dont' have the luxury to be ever really able to buy much MF.

Well there should be other ways to obtain MF imo such as enchants or something, but that's another issue really.

The argument about being a tank is still flawed. If u never had MF in the first place anyway, it would be the same if u had soloed. By sharing the MF, u r just leeching the MF from other people who decided to invest in it. I know tanks need pretty specific stats, but if u look at a lot of DPS builds they require a lot of specific stats too and can't always afford MF as well (if they don't want to get 1 shotted especially). I don't think tanks should feel entitled to get MF off other ppl just because they're a tank.

As others have pointed out there is far more loot dropping in D3 multiplayer games than there ever was in Diablo 2 Multiplayer. It's just that since each player has individual loot drops you don't see all the other gear.

I have consistently progressed faster in multiplayer games with my Barbarian, why? Because I change to a multiplayer skill set and run interference. When I do that my DPS friends can unload for real and not worry about evading and kiting mobs as they usually do in solo play.
