Look for something in the 800+ DPS range with a Socket. If you can get one with LoH, Life Steal, or Crit Damage that's a plus. Dex or Vit on the weapon isn't bad either. Things like LpSS, Spirit Regen and IAS are nice but you don't need to search for them. If you get one with an open socket put a Emerald or Amethysts in it, Star quality or better. That should be a good start.

When I first did act 3/4 these were roughly my stats:

35k life
600 resist all
10k armor (hard target, keen eye, enchantress)
1200 loh
20k DPS

I didn't die a whole lot when I used good strategy, probably 20 times in all of act 3/4

Yesterday i played like 10 mins Of act 3 and i wasnt doing too well... Ive pumped 20euros into the game (stupid i know) to try and find good items in the ah.. I have found a few but now my magic find is like 15%. Nothing that has dropped for me has been good enough to replace on my current gear.
I wont be spending anymore real money on this game.. If i cant upgrade and move on then so be it:(
