    Re: Diablo 3 Complaints

But, it goes to show one very important message. We are all different. What may be a great game to one audience may not necessarily be a great game to another audience. Diablo 3 is clearly designed for the very young audience, and people who lacks the ability to think (e.g using attribution points, creating builds, using skills, etc.) And is more targeted towards the mainstream gamers who loves to pay to win. Since I do not fit into either of these three categories, I personally think that Diablo 3 is a horrible game, an abomination that does more damage to the franchise than anything else. This is my own, personal opinion, and that is why I have stopped playing Diablo 3. I am not going to buy any expansions. With that said, there are many other games coming out that does look promising, so for me, it was just a question of vending some of the frustrations/disappointments and everything is back to normal again.
Uh diablo 3 is rated 16+ here (and editions with enabled RMAH are 18+). and since 2 years the government is very strict at shops who sell games to people under aged; shops risk a fine up to 15% of the yearly profit if caught selling to under aged people. On top of that the climate is only to strengthen those minimum ages in the coming years; to prevent people from buying through an international company over internet who doesn't have to follow the law.

Blizzard is large enough to know these things & they knew very well that enabling the possibility of gore effects like blood & body parts flying through space would lead to a 16+ rating.

    @2 above:
my fishy mancer could do anything - naked.
After I got infinity for my lightning sorc she could also do anything
My fireclaw druid had troubles at certain spots but he never got into troubles.

Endgame should be new builds - blizzard should also do updates especially to promote people to try some new IDEA. Not simply skills: an idea for battling monsters. Just like how a summon mancer is a total different idea from a bonemancer. And how a blizzard sorc is totally different from chain lightning based sorc. Or even enchantress type with ES.

In d3 whatever they do to the game as monk I still need serenity, blinding flash, heal, and a mantra.. Leaving only 2 for custimization - those 2 won't ever really define a new playstyle.

    Re: Diablo 3 Complaints

I think Infinity'ed Chain Light sorc would be more appropriately named as Infinity Sorc rather than a light sorc, because of its ability to suddenly make Light sorcs playable everywhere.

And Infinity involves breaking immunities for it to work. Had we not have infinity, light sorcs would just be more powerful with infinity, but not unplayable in certain areas.

Almost every single time they will tell you that the newer games are not any good because they are nostalgic about the time they spent playing the older games. It also gives them a sense of entitlement that they "know what they are talking about".

Its a pointless and old argument and most people cannot be subjective enough to overcome the "nostalgia". Its how every single old person you ever meet states "When I was young". Who cares.

Stop comparing everything to everything else and enjoy it for what it is, you will be MUCH happier. It is not a bad game, it is not diablo 2 or diablo 3, it is not even the same development team. You can argue it is a bad game, but you not liking it doesn't make it bad, when there are literally hundreds of thousands of people (maybe millions?) playing it still every night. Its the same thing as stating that wow sucks. We might have that similiar opinion, but I played it for 5 years, and they still have 6+ million subscriptions. It cant suck that much with that size of a subscriber base.
    Not true.
I loved Diablo 2...sure there are things I don't like about the game...spam bots, people coming into a normal game with a level 94 sorc and killing everyone trying to do chaos runs....
That said...There is almost nothing I like about Diablo 3...its not even the same game...let alone a sequel...It shares almost nothing with the original except a weak poorly thought out story line that is attatched to the original so poorly I dont even pay attention to it.
It takes place 20 years after the original...( it almost took that long for blizzard to produce it) and only one character class is the same?
You take ANY OTHER GAME...MOVIE...or sequel of any kind and at least the characters...and classes would be the same... Lord of the Rings will always have orcs, elves, dwarves and humans...elder scrolls will always have elves, orcs and humans... I don't understand why they would change every single character class and every single ability...It makes no sense...usually you would keep what works and just add more. Aside from the name alone, what is supposed to draw in and keep the die hard diablo community that has always been there?
There is not a single die hard diablo fan that wouldnt have loved to take a Hammerdin or a summoner necro and bash new monsters in a new environment....The witch doctor is a piece of crap... sorry but you all know its true.
the Drops suck, the crafting sucks, In Diablo 2 you could craft an enigma armor if you collected what you needed...you could craft that cta or whatever...Now you have to buy the better equipment? Dummest move ever...people who pay 60 bucks for a game and don't want to spend more have no chance in inferno.
used to be that you had the option, you could get there quicker if you threw money at it or you could get there slow...but you could still get there...you didnt HAVE to throw money at it.
They have made a piss poor excuse for a sequal...that shouldnt even bear the diablo name
We waited 12 years for a piece of crap
I still play Diablo 2 at least 3 times a week
I guarantee NOBODY will be playing Diablo 3 in 12 years
should have kept the original crew on the game Blizzard
who ****ed that up.... (best game we ever made...lets fire everyone involved)
you have dropped the ball entirely!!

    PvE Attrition On the Rise?

Now that 1.04 has brought a much more satisfying end-game experience, is anyone else starting to feel the hangover? I've been playing daily for many hours since 1.04 (as opposed to 0.01 hours before 1.04) and have been enjoying it a lot. However, I'm starting to feel a bit like "Hmm, what's the point?"

That usually means that I need something else to keep my interest, apart from the usual end-game of killing champs over and over.

PvP is the only thing for me that would keep my interest long-term. I'm not a huge pvP player, but the infinite replayability and ever-challenging aspects of PvP are pretty much the only thing that I think could keep my interest in a game like this (same went for WoW).

Is any one else counting the days until PvP, and starting to feel the "what's the point?" feeling?

Re: PvE Attrition On the Rise?

I'm waiting for a day when I can try out different builds and actually PLAN a build. In the sense that a build won't be just jamming an X number of skills together to beat "everything". Instead I should choose skills, and my choices should influence the decision about other skills: skills should either directly (like in d2) or indirecty synergize. Indirectly is obviously better, however care should be taken that the specific synergy isn't the only way to use a skill. Also there should be several manners of end game monster hunting - which are hopefully similarly good, but require totally different equipment & playstyles.

Yep. With 1.04, managed to beat Act 2 with my DH and started on Act 3, which was far far harder. Switched my skills up a bit. Almost at paragon 3 but then thought "what's the point?" so started my first Witch Doctor. Used all my wealth to craft new items and especially twinked gems once I got to Act 2 and cut through everything like a hot knife through butter. Finished Normal difficulty on the weekend with him; don't have any real urge to play again.

    Might start a Monk eventually.

Re: PvE Attrition On the Rise?

    I haven't noticed a more satisfying end-game yet.

Running 12 levels of paragon, finding no items that sold for more than 100K, finding a single legendary with a trash roll on a level 59 crossbow, still stuck in Act IV unless I play Auction House: The Reckoning... I'm quickly losing interest. These days I can barely finish running Act II / III inferno because I'm bored before it's cleared. What the hell is the point of playing a Diablo game if all I ever find are yellows/blues... and 99.9% of these are fodder? Oh cool, a level 63 item... identifying... Oh, 200 dps, +30 str +30 dex +10 to who gives a crap. Either that happens or the items are level 52-55. Or I find a bunch of crappy crossbows... crossbows everywhere. Hell, I'm not expecting to find godly items all the time.. but throw me a damn bone once in a while. For the amount of time I've played, this is the least rewarding experience I've had with a videogame. I've yet to see a set item in 200+ hours. Diablo.

PvP isn't going to do anything for me except further show me how awful my items are.

Re: PvE Attrition On the Rise?

I've definitely had the "what's the point?" attitude, but since May 15th.

Ive always felt that Diablo is about PvE, so I'm generally feeling indifferent towards PvP being patched in, but there's a part of me that's dreading the addition of PvP. I don't want anything taking the dev's mind off the glaring holes in the PvE aspect of the game, namely the linear quest system, linear itemization, linear, static character development.

Re: PvE Attrition On the Rise?

Hmm. Yeah, I will eventually be saying, "What's the point?" for sure. I did it with Diablo 2, and I don't see 3 being any different. For me, Diablo has always been a game you get hardcore addicted to and then burn out on, take a break, and come back in a few months for another go. I have a lot of free time for the first time in months, so I'm finally experience Diablo 3 in a more obsessive way, and so far, I don't see any end in sight. I like to check out diabloprogress.com every now and then and gawking at those ridiculously geared Wizards really let's me visualize what I'm working toward -- not that just playing the game isn't satisfying enough. But, as a tangible goal (if I really need one) I just want to experience the awesome feeling that is 300k DPS and 60k HP. That will take some time, especially when you're not using the RMAH. :P

I never really cared for PvP, but I'll give it a try. I'd rather they add more PvE content, and considering Jay has alluded to such additions, I think that I'm set until that arrives. And of course I could always take a break, which would be O.K.

I also haven't leveled a Monk or Witch Doctor to 60. But I'm a special case.
