Credit to Jipptomilly for making his original 200k challenge videos. I thought there was room to improve
what's 200k? Can people Finally start placing build not based on the AH? Like you know, was the case with all diablo games except for this abysmal econ 101 version?
I've yet to find a build that actually works with self found gear without getting lucky. Something that actually simply works because of playstyle & not because of items found.
Lol if you are that obsessed with self found stuff you should not be playing diablo 3. They claim they built it around both the auction house and finding items on your own but no one is fooled. They built it around the auction house. I would prefer much higher drop rates and no auction house, but between being weak forever+self satisfaction and being strong while using the auction house I will take the latter.
You can get through all of Hell difficulty with self-found items.
It's just going to take you a long time. People trying to MF items without the AH just become impatient compared to those who do use the AH.
On topic: awesome. 200k is hardly anything for an entire set of gear. Granted, it was more expensive hen the game was first released and prices were higher. But now-a-days you can get a decent set of gear for almost nothing if you have the self control to save up gold rather than buy lots of small-and-useless upgrades.
Honestly, he got very lucky in finding that gear at those prices. Most of what he bought was 1d11h or even 1d12h.
Seems to be getting more and more difficult to find these deals as most people have wisened up by now. Yes they show up every once in a while...actually still quite often across the whole AH but not when you are doing focused searches like this, and then you're one of a hundred people trying to click that buy button... Point is you should not expect to be able to replicate this success.
Wow it's fun, spending an hour at the AH.
Is this what diablo has become? "Win if you spend most of your time at AH, spending time in the game is less rewarding".
I agree, honestly I don't even enjoy playing more than 1-2 hours at a time and now most of my time is just spent making different build videos. D3's going to DIE in 3 months unless they really improve it. Because there is literally zero reward for putting time in the game. Oh you spent 5 hours farming Act 3? Here's some sh*tty rares that will sell for 100k on the auction house. Or, you could have spent 5 hours flipping things on the AH and made 20 mil. The whole system is *** backwards.
Guess that's what happens when a company would rather rake in revenue from RMAH then create a compelling game.
