Thought this might be interesting to some people here, I'm the guy who makes all the D3 monk videos. This is just a little vid explaining who I am, showing progress going from a skinny little Asian to where I am now, and what I'm trying to do with the healthy gamer channel.
I liked the video. You'll probably find many others have similar problems and stories, though in high school, it all seems unique to one's self. One note on "every day": be sure to take 2 days off for recovery, or else you're breaking down tissues too often without giving enough time for growth. Even pros take 1-2 days off.
While you do seem "outgoing" in the video, are you sure this is the real you, or is it a façade? There is nothing defective about introverts. We simply live in idiot land (the West) where the talkative get rewarded. For instance, job interviews are handled by blabbering on endlessly and bragging about oneself. And, we have endless books on how to be the life of the party, or shall we say, how to be a socialite clone of me, me, me, the braggart author. Lying is ideal, of course. In the Eastern parts of the world, however, reserved, quiet and thoughtful people get rewarded instead. One personality type is not necessarily better than the other. A healthy physical transformation is always good, but was there anything wrong your personality beforehand? Maybe not.
I wanted to be social and talk to girls.
My social anxiety prevented that.
I'd say that's a pretty big problem when your fears keep you from doing things that you want to do. There is a difference between living the life you're "supposed" to live, and living the life you want. If you want to be introverted and not be social, perfectly fine.
The point was, I WANTED to be outgoing, talk to girls, have lots of friends, because it's FUN to be social. However my anxiety/low self-esteem kept me from that goal.
I think we have to be careful when talking about the whole "it's okay, be who you are" thing, because many people use that as an excuse to not make the changes they WANT to make in their lives.
ANd if you want to know if this is a facade go watch my other 46 videos :P
I'm skinny as heck and not particularly good looking, but I have lots of friends and go out more than most. You know what my secret is?
Don't care what other ppl (who are not my friends) think.
Its that simple.
Also body building isnt healthy at all lol. Train for a marathon if you really want to get fit for the long run.
Healthy humans tend to fit a wide range of the normal Bell curve.
I'm Blessed - very good genes.
I have my habits for healthy living and my habits that are not so good, but that I feel are a valid trade off for enjoying my life more.
Risk to Reward.
Health and life are both blessings we lose no matter what.
I have good genes too, except when it comes to hair. At least the itch will go away when I lose it all.
Well, body building is better than sitting on your rump chatting on forums. plus in that other thread he seems to really care about what he eats. That's more than a lot of us.
Just don't get so big you lose range of motion. those guys with the huge arms the size of my waist (well maybe not quite) are not only gross, but i wonder what they do if their head itches. it appears like they couldn't reach it.
