About 3 days ago, after the servers were taken down briefly, I noticed a marked increase in difficulty in Act 3 inferno with my monk.
I went from comfortably and efficiently doing Siegebreaker runs in less than 30 minutes to being unable to complete them at all. I double checked my spec and gear - nothing had changed.
Anecdotally, my other friends noticed no change - except my monk friend. He felt something had changed too, but being far better geared, it only slowed him.
Since then I've been experimenting, and it appears that when I take off Seize the Initiative passive my damage taken doesn't seem to increase even though my details screen says I am getting the correct armour bonus.
Am I crazy? Did they break this almost universally used passive? Is it something else? Anyone else noticed this? How can we test it?
Still seems to be entirely functional to me, tested in A1 against a single zombie (the same zombie) several times. There was a significant difference in the max and minimum damage taken per hit with (~4.6k) and without (~5.2k) Seize the Initiative.
Thankyou very much for taking the time to check this out...
Have you noticed the increase in difficulty otherwise?
The change was pretty marked for me - I could no longer do a run at all that I was doing in very efficient time.
If it isn't StI, what other factor could they have klutzed up in the hotfix?
Interesting. I felt like it got a bit harder, but nothing to make me question anything.
What skills do you use?
I'm not in act 3 inferno but I did notice that there's new issues with certain monsters. Like the colossal golgor bug, and they probably bugged out other monsters or boss modifiers as well.
Jailer is now being spammed, as is frozen, things like that.
