Hello. Can Blizzard ban me for using programs for making the game run in 1080p resolution and such?Programs like this, that are not directly interacting with ingame economy and stuff.
Is there a reason why the in-game options are not enough for you, since they provide all that?
Because the in game resolution is pretty crappy?
You're asking about Diablo 2, correct?
It says Diablo II in the topic title. :P
Hwever, this forum says Diablo 3 in the title.
Blizzard won't start distinguishing between malevolent and benevolent hacks, that would open a Pandora's box. Using any third party software is a violation of the contract which you agreed to when installing the game and/or making a bnet account. Being caught at it leads to a ban from bnet, as it's stated there. Pacta sunt servanda.

You know I'm born to lose / and gambling is for fools / but that's the way I like it, baby / I don't want to live forever!
Unfortunately they do ban for that stuff..
But I suppose you would go undetected.
And I think it is cheating in the sense that it works by using the same textures but tiling them, so you actually see 4-5 times further than anyone else. Kinda imba in PvP.
That's just stupid - ther'es dozens of 3rd party plugins running on my computer to improve performance of my hardware. Ranging from drivers to cleanup background processes that periodically clean the vram. Those also influence what *I* wish to see it is MY GAME< MY PC, AN MY TIME. WHO DOES BLIZZARD THINK HE IS DECIDING WHAT I CAN DO?
They made the game, they maintain the servers, you agreed to their tos. They hold all the cards, that's just life.Originally Posted by pulli
You can do whatever you want in SP though. Of course the SP community here does not accept use of that mod, but it's still your choice.
If you see further then you can also teleport further. An unfair advantage I'd say.
