sorry to hear you died! regardless, MONK ALL THE WAY
Just started my very first monk (HC, of course). Hoping to go for huge resists by aiming for items with allres + lightning res + OWE.
I'm more familiar with the barbarian (HC barb is doing A2 inferno). How does the monk deal with frozen champs? I don't see a leap/wotb style skill to evade or break the freeze... Does anyone use the passive to cut dmg by 75% while feared/disabled?
Also, is there a forum thread for general Monk HC discussion (like the Barb HC thread)? Are there any good tutorial/guides for HC monk playstyle?
Monk has a few ways against frozen:
1. Serenity, but you know that. To me this is the last wall of defense, I alway run/kite after popping this until it cools down.
2. SSS for invulnerability time, which I don't believe is inferno material btw, the CD is horrendous, the proc coefficent is abysmal (really bad for LoH...etc), and the damage is meh for a mega 1 shot skill. SSS can also be used as a very bad teleport, I am unsure if it can teleport through wallers of if clear direct sight is needed.
3. Dashing, either dashing out of range, or if you're pro dash right when the orb blows. Note there is an end stop time of around 1s where you stand still can't move. While I find this skill very useful, ultimately I swapped to TR due to the 1s stop at the end. Still its pros and cons.
4. Tempest rush, which is super responsive mobility, no prep time no end stop (unlike dashing) + collisonless movement, I usually rely on this one. The big down is rubber banding, which can be partially mitigated once you get very use to it and know it's quirks. This is also a very good skill if you're going deadly reach kiting style (The skirmisher build I like to say), which involved staying outside of enemy melee range, relying on combinations of summoned allies, talon kick knockbad and/or tempest rush to hold at range.
As a main monk (213 hours on 1st HC monk who really set me up item wise), I feel jealous of Barb's Iron impact leap.

some what dated thread, but you might find some useful stuff.
Anyone willing to offer advice on skills and/or gear improvements for my monk? I can handle A1 inferno pretty easily with the 900 all res. I have some life on hit and some life regen but relatively little vitality...

Also, is anyone experiencing less rubber banding from Tempest Rush after the hotfix last week?
