    Inferno, resistance or vitality?

    Hi!

I've just reached act 2 in inferno and while I can kill enemies rather quickly, they do massive damage to me and normal mobs kills me.

I figure there are two ways to avoid this, either resistances (resist all or armor) or vitality. Which one do you think I should go with?

(I have 950 vitality, around 240 resistances and just under 3500 armor)

    Resistances, no matter what class.

Unless you have crazy money and can do things a bit differently, like this Barb dude with ~260 all res and 84.5% crit chance with his ridiculously high dps.

Hm, alright. It kind of sucks though, it feels like I'm forced to go with all resistance on every single piece or die.

That's because you are forced to. All res isn't expensive anymore so it shouldn't be a problem.

It's cute you think they left choices, lol. Your spec can make a huge difference too. If it's not str and vit and res all, it's probably not itemized so you can really use it.

Don't be surprised if progressing becomes a matter of switching to sword and board to start a new act until you get significant upgrades, then going back 2 handers to contiue farming upgrades just to go back to sword and board to finally start the next act.

Im reading all this and im wondering about how i can handle 2-3 champion packs at once with my WD, which got 100-300 res, 75k hp, 17k dps unbuffed and 201% MF? ( Yea, i got MF gear, farming act II since few weeks )

I haven't played a WD at high level yet, but asking why a melee needs more damage mitigation than a ranged seems...obvious

    Re: Inferno, resistance or vitality?

Well it doesn't matter for effective hp if you double your res or your hp, it's the same result. You got so many hp that you can survive even with low resists.

But it's not as effective in respect to healing the less hitpoints you have the more effectively you can recover once you were hit. Healing 75k life is difficult, pots are almost useless at this point and any other ways are also 1/2 to 1/3 as effective.
