First, should I aim for two sets of gear? I mean, one for mf and one for killing bosses? Or can one set of gear comprise both having good mf and the other stats (crit, crit damage, int, vit, res all)?
Second, I just got to inferno, and I'm trying to figure out what items to buy. It seems like an infathomable problem, because of the complexity of it all. Does anyone know like a good youtube video explaining what to look for when buying gear or could otherwise explain it? Also, if anyone who has really good gear could just post screen shots of some of their gear that would be helpful also.
edit: I've saved up 800K. I'm trying to mf and sell more of the stuff I find to build that up higher.
edit 2: here are my main stats so far:
Dmg: 11596
Armor: 3247
Life: 21214
Magic Find: 118% (before nephalem valors)
edit: I plan on using this wizard mainly for mfing, not pvp
You didn't list resists at all and did not list your build. Both of those impact gear a lot. You will need several millions of gear before you can mf any act in inferno.
Here's my updated stats with resistances information:
19766 damage (without follower but with glass cannon--i'm using force armor)
2573 armor
20471 life (I know that's low)
Resistances:
356 phys
363 cold
412 fire
343 lightning
330 poison
370 holy
What's your build?
An act 1, good MF build Wiz would be someone who revolve around the passive Critical Mass in taking full advantage of the crit chance and Arcane Point on crit in keeping the resources and skills up at all time like frost nova/diamond skin for tankiness/defense, and Explosive Blast(chain)/Spectral Blade(deep cuts) as offense/additional resource generator.
Skill-wise, it mainly requires fast hands.
Equipment-wise, find equips with crit/AP on hit/crit damage/IAS/Res/Armor.
The legendary weapon(around 500 dps)/orb set is a good start, and couple it with the passive Conflagration for additional +10% damage from the weapon's fire.
I believe that you said in another thread that you are building a blizz/hyrdra kite build. For that build, attack speed is a nice damage multiplier. Life regen will work better for you than life on hit. For act 1, try to get to at least 300 all res but 400+ all res unbuffed works even better. Try to get 50% + damage reduction with force armor up.
Honestly, Inferno for anyone not buying the gear to win usually will progress in phases. At first, your build will be very defensive and you will likely lose dps to get the survival stats you need. As you get more gear, you increase dps without losing defense. Eventually, you go more offensive build OR lose defensive stats for MF.
MF would typically be a separate set of gear. First starting any act in inferno usually means ratcheting up the defensives for a while.
I am using a blizz/archon kite build.
edit: as far as what I should be looking for on my gear, what specs for what items would you say?
