I've found conflicting answers about exactly what can and cannot be dodged. The general consensus seems to be that you can dodge anything but desecrate, molten, plague, and arcane sentries. Are there any other effects that can't be dodged, or any special attacks that can't be dodged?
Also, I hear people talking about having higher than 40% block chance. The highest chance on a shield is 32% from SS, and the only item I know of that increases block chance is Helm of Command at 8%. What other items increase block chance? Also, block works on ALL damage sources, correct?
Justice Lantern is a legendary ring that gives 11% block chance, but it's very expensive.
i think its more a matter of display than actual underlying math.
as far as i can tell dot-skills put a fairly consistent dmg drain on you i would go as far as to say that dot skill ticks up to 100 times per second. However, from a single source of dmg you dont get displayed the dmg more than twice per second.
so you get one tick of dmg from a single source every 0,5 sec ( same with HP reg )
so if you stand in an arcane beam which maybe deals 40 dmg á 0,01 sec you would still only get displayed 40*50 dmg (2000 dmg)
if you happen to dodge 15 of those 50 dmg ticks in between to display-ticks you probably get only 1400 dmg
but mainly thats just a theory ... i guess that would be an easy thing to test in nightmare with mantra of evasion but i leave that to other people ..
