I assume now that loot is personalized unlike d2 that the amount of loot doesn't change with higher amounts of players. In D2 it made sense for 8 player runs to drop more but not really in d3.

I personally haven't noticed any consistantly higher drop rates in my multiplayer runs anyway.

no difference that i've noticed. I would like to know when group MF comes into play though, if just having someone else in the game counts or if they need to be same map/screen etc. Also knowing when/how much monster HP gets increased would be good too.

I heard monsters gain 110% health for each player that joins the game. Not sure if that is true or not but it seems at least in that rough vicinity. Bosses like Belial take a smidget longer for 2 similar dps chars than when solo (though partially due to having no follower).

Monsters drop the same loot for you in single player as multiplayer.
If there are 2 people in the game, the monster will drop you unique loot and your friend unique loot, with no modifiers. 3 people means each monster killed drops unique loot for everyone at the same rate as a single player.

In multiplayer games, Magic Find is averaged across the party - which means, if you have 0% and your ally has 200%, you both have 100%. This will make it appear to you that you get better loot in multiplayer games but your ally will see not as good loot. Similarly, if you have one person with 20% magic find, one person with 60% magic find, and one person with 100% magic find in a game, everyone will have 60% magic find (20 + 60 + 100, then divided by 3). This might be where you're seeing your disparity, because you may be leeching someone's magic find.

Monsters have additional hitpoints per player in the game. The amount gained is different based on difficulty.

Normal: +75% health per additional player
Nightmare: +85% health per additional player
Hell: +95% health per additional player
Inferno: +110% health per additional player

They used to have +0% damage per player in normal, +5% damage per player in nightmare, +10% damage per player in hell and +15% damage per player in inferno, but this was changed to NO additional damage per player because it was seen as too big of an effect to discourage group play in inferno for melee classes: and melee classes were already seen as having problems with survivability without the damage buff in multiplayer games.
