Just got D2, where do i want my first character?

I just bought diablo 2 but where should i start a first character?
In single player/open? Ladder? Realm?

Single Player, yes. There are a couple of mp groups around if you want to play with different people. If you do decide to play single player and want to mp/trade with this community, do not play open bnet. We mp via tcp/ip games.

Hmm... as for bnet, I know diddly except there are mostly bots and spam. I played mostly by myself, or in rush games, which after an hour would be playing by myself again.

Single player has the "/players 8" allowing you to simulate a full game for hardermonsters and morexp.

I too find Single Player a vastly superior way to play the game.

Single player is definetly the bes way to play until you find out what your fave char is, are no longer a new player and can create a good build for your character. if you need a build email me, i got some pretty unique builds for the amzzon paladin druid and sorc theyre great for pvm, not so much for pvp. with the exception of the sorc. enjoy D2 iv'e been playing for years. online and off. mostly off though i prefer it that way.ive never gotten tired of it and i dont think you will either.
