More DPS so that you can buy everything in the RMAH again.
Implementing a new act and some new characters won't really change the game much for me... The characters are boring and weak and unimaginative. If they expect me to wait with abated breath on D3 xpansion for the next 2+ years they are SADLY mistaken. Torchlight 3 and Borderlands 3 will probably be out before the D3 expansion.
Nobody is expecting you to stay with D3 during the whole duration between now and the expansion. I know for a fact that I won't, even though I raved (and am still raving) this game. I have other games to play too, from pen and paper puzzles, diced based game books, non-ARPG video games, and *gasp* even other ARPG video games. By the time the expansion comes out, you are probably bored of those video games you stated as well already. Perhaps you would be completely disgusted with them, and can't wait for D3X to come out.
Personally, I might have a look at TL2, and will probably pass on PoE seeing how it's marketed as a game for the so-called old school gamers, and other things I heard about it.

Most of their budget will go to CGI cinematics and 6,000 lines of dialogue.
I don't mind most of the dialogues, except the ones of Diablo and Azmodan. TvTropes says it best:
Informed Ability: Azmodan is played up by several characters as a tactical genius. His tactics include Zerg rush, occasional anti-hero public service announcements, threatening the heroes while telling them exactly where his forces are coming from and threatening his subordinates with You Have Failed Me. In other words, exactly like every other boss in the game.
- This is lampshaded in a dialog with the templar Templar: They say that Azmodan is the greatest commander of all the Burning Hells.
Barbarian: His minions fall like twigs in the wind. Some commander.
One of the things that kept people playing post-1.09 D2 was the difficulty in reaching level 99. It was easy to get to 90. Getting to 95 was a moderate task. Getting to 99 was monumental.
Increase level cap to 99. Add a new Act/s (or even just side-quests with WPs) to tie up Shen/Followers/Adria/Soulstone. Kindergarten difficulty getting to level 80, you know, like it is getting to 60 now. Say level 80 by the end of Inferno. Moderate difficulty getting to 90 with no quest XP. Good luck getting to 99, but it's possible. What does this all lead to? LADDERS.
A single-use Rune as quest reward for six quests (think the +2 Skill Points for killing Izual in D2). This Rune can be added to any Skill as a permanent effect in addition to any other Runes used. The Rune is an actual item that must be used on a Skill and it spawns with a random effect more or less like Annihilus or Torches (in other words, you may get WD skill effects on your Barb, or you might get a Dh effect you don't want on your DH, meaning you might need/want to trade). The purpose? Character specialisation. One Rune for each slot on your skill bar making every character different.
I don't think at all that getting to L60 is kindergarten difficulty. Normal mode was easy for me (except Izual), but my way of playing the game at this point is obviously different from the play style of those who were in inferno after one or two days. I'm still not there BTW.
Regarding the topic, they left out so many D2 features that I believe they will release two expansions.
