The idea here was to incorporate life on spirit spent and the transcendence passive to create a super-healing-mantra-spamming monk. The experiment was a successThere's two versions of this build here, the mantra of conviction spamming DPS build and then the mantra of evasion super tanky build.

Nice vid thanks for trying out new builds for everyone
That is insane crit chance for a Monk. I'm currently at 18% and don't intend on going much higher, just mixing it up with IAS.
Although you just showed another viable build that should help a lot of dudes now stacking crit chance over IAS but still have trouble progressing. Nice work, keep it up!
It's not like ias excludes crit, Im working on both :P
I really wish the Monk had a skill to increase crit chance. Just ONE passive or active. Meanwhile, the Barbarian has 2 passives and 4 active skills to increase crit chance. Totes not fair. We have to spend millions of gold to get an additional 15% crit chance will the barbarians use two skills and are done...
Go play a barb then. Seriously if monks had every skill that is good from a barb and vice-versa then we would just be a barb with a different skin. Monks have skills barbs would love and barbs have skills we would love but that is why there are different classes in the game.
You are really, really exaggerating what I was saying. I'm not asking for every barb skill. Seriously, dude.
"Our IAS skills..." 15% of that isn't from a skill, but from dual wielding. And personally, with lag issues to boot, using WotHF for 15% isn't ideal. I'd much prefer Deadly Reach, for its ability to either boost damage or boost armor by big amounts and usefulness as a kiting generator. Regardless, the Barbarian has Frenzy, which surpasses our IAS easily, and WotB on top of that. So they not only have superior IAS, but superior crit chance, and crit damage.
And what do we get? Mantra of Retribution (an already entirely useless Mantra) - Transgression. Yippee!
Yeah Deadly Reach is cool and effective. But I recently tested WotHF/Blazing Fists and had plenty HOLY CRAP moments, as in:
HOLY CRAP this isn't slow at all.
HOLY CRAP yellow numbers are flying.
HOLY CRAP its AoE.
HOLY CRAP it has knockback (interruptzor).
HOLY CRAP I get 2.06 AS with 3 stacks (1h+board)
HOLY CRAP I get 3 stacks in 0.12 seconds (not exactly but close lol).
HOLY CRAP I'm still able to kite effectively 'cause I move like a Barb on Sprint!
You get the picture.
But yeah, some Barb skills would work nicely on Monks. Personally, I think things are fine, but I would love a Leap-like ability. It just makes sense, being all kung-fuey and could be based on that Palm from the sky thing from that Stephen Chow movie, Kung Fu Hustle.
The 15% IAS from WotHF with Blazing Fists sounds nice and all, but... whenever I go back and forth between that and FoT with Thunderclap to compare them, I feel like FoT kills quicker, generates spirit quicker, procs more LoH, and fills up the screen with cyclones much quicker. In other words, basically every benefit you would expect to get from more IAS, FoT+TC seems to give more of that benefit than WotHF+BF.
