WHAT that's stupid no one ever gets bored from diablo 2.. literary I beat diablo 3 as far as I can get, and there's nothing left for me to do - farming? Forget it I never get anything in all my 200 yellows i beat at act 1 inferno. Besides I still have to find a place where one can quickly move to a guaranteed unique. Everything is too far from tele spots making the game feel like a drag.

I really wish they would fix diablo 2 so I can run it on windows 7 without constant graphical glitches. They could also imporve the skilltree a lot by adding new classes with different skilltrees (most fun is in the meta game, is there a meta game for diablo 3 at all?). The only good thing about diablo 3 is that sometime you have to fight difficult mobs & multiplayer might feel like you can help each other. HOwever that is then again offset by the fact that when playing with 2 people it really seems the monsters 1 hit everything, even a full tanky build.

Right...... I cannot tell whether you are being sarcastic. Most people I know that did not simply stopped playing D2 played it on and off, with off more than on.

Re: Bad time to buy Diablo III?

This is a bit late, but...
So after patch 1.0.3 i hear alot of players griefing and with the loot / character nerfs is it a bad time for me to buy and start playing diablo in its current state?
I was (am?) one of the people complaining about this game. The loot/skill adjustments aren't the problem though. At all. Don't avoid the game on this account. Most of the skill changes were to poorly designed skills that were simply too good. I hardly think it's fair to call it a skill nerf rather than an adjustment since the game just came out, they realized it was poorly designed, and they altered it. For a nerf you'd have had to have had an OP skill for quite some time. IMO, at least. The loot changes are pretty marginal. They won't make or break the game for you, but if you're worried about "finding your own gear" they'll probably do more to make it than break it.

I can't speak for everyone, but a majority of my complaints with the game simply stemmed from a (very) cartoony atmosphere, a fairly poor story, obnoxious and forced cut-scenes, odd (bad, imo, very pretty but simply not proper) area designs, poor music, linear game play, etc, etc. You can find complaint threads anywhere if you want to hear them though.

my concerns are that i wont have enough gold or strong gear to naturally progress throughout the game and the the RMAH will become mandatory in the future.
Check out my long thread in the single player forum, where I'm running a self-found hard core two handed barb through the game (or as far as I can, at least.... just started nightmare last night).

Self found is a pretty harsh limit, but I totally recommend hc. They have a nice gold AH there, no RMAH, and you'll be able to slowly get the things you need. (I do kind of recommend trying self-found at the same time though.... so far I've had a much better experience than on my other 60 chars that used the AH. Maybe it's not your thing at all, but I'd give it a shot. At the /very/ least, I recommend simply not using the AH till you reach level 55. Otherwise you'll make the first three acts of the game completely and utterly pointless).

This is sort of a the fun is in the journey, not the destination, thing.

As of now, there's very very little to do once you hit 60 and get to Inferno (much less once you've beat it). If you're like me at all, you'll grow tired of farming champion packs pretty quickly. That in and of itself doesn't make the game bad though, it just means it has no endgame for the time being. Stuff will (hopefully?) be added to alleviate that later. For now though, there are ways to have fun simply getting to 60. Self imposing limits like HC or No AH, or even just NO AH til 55/60 will prolong the game for you, let you have more fun finding things, and might give you better value for you money.
What is the best build currently (post -nerfs) for solo'ing and farming gold/gear? i thought it would be a demon hunter but i heard it got nerfed. thanks.
Multiple builds can solo pretty well... and since you're not locked into a single build the way this game is designed, I really wouldn't worry about it. You can pretty much play with any skills you want until Inferno starts, and by then you should have a decent handle on what works/doesn't work for you.

Don't get hung up on the demon hunter nerf. It was one OP skill that's no longer OP. DH is a super fun job. I'm not sure it's the best to solo with, since you really do die quite easily on it later on if you make a mistake. Maybe I'm a bit biased playing HC though, since it's not a huge deal to die in SC. Then again, dying easily keeps you on your toes and adds to the fun. Vault is a really fun skill. DH has lots of fun skills.

Don't get hung up on the "best" build either. That's especially true if you go single player and won't drag anyone down under any circumstance. And it's especially /especially/ true if you do SC. There's a lot of really similar template DH builds that work quite well, but I saw someone who had a completely different set up using wacky passives and shuriken to get what seemed to be an actually decent amount of damage mitigation. I forget the exact set up, but apparently it worked for them. The game's new, people haven't figured everything out yet, and part of the fun is still being able to come up with builds like that on your own.

@Valeli, I agree with SnickerSnack, great post . It was fun to learn how to use the AH but once I'd upgraded all my gear Normal became too easy. I found a cookie cutter build rather than experimenting and the game became boring.

Re: Bad time to buy Diablo III?

To me summer itself was a bad time to buy Diablo III as I knew that if I started playing I wouldn't be able to stop.
Now that it's approaching to the end I guess I'll buy my Diablo III soon.

There is no Bad Time to Buy Diablo 3. Diablo 3 is always going to be Diablo 3 no matter when you get it.
