There's a ghom thread already up in the wizard forum:
http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...hp?834385-Ghom
I posted a video in that thread of my first attempt at ghom after 1.03, which resulted in a kill. It is mostly just about managing where the gas clouds go down.
I beat him on my monk in a group, but I went back and tried him solo and couldn't do it, I just didn't have enough DPS to get him dead before he enrages and starts spamming clouds. My monk's DPS is under 10k though, full on group tank.
I was able to get Ghom dead last night after, many attempts. For me, and this is probably vital for everyone, the key was to very carefully manage where he put the poison clouds down by kiting him in a big circle around the outside of his lair.
My Build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aYigXh!ZXU!accYba
Some of my stats are a little low for where I'm at I think, but here is where I sit unbuffed:
- 14k dps
- 1.61 as
- 39k hp
- 1225 dex
- 4.3k armor (4.9 with enchantress, 5.8k with enchantress and MoE + Hard Target rune)
- 702 resist all
- 32.2% dodge
- 1335 LoH
- 23% crit
- 185% crit dmg
I was dual wielding for this encounter, and was able to to sneak in a lot of damage to him using Serenity every time it was up and by using Blinding Flash to keep him in place on the edge of a cloud for a few hits before he laid another one down. Another great way I noticed to keep my health up, as well as keeping 3 stacks of Sweeping Wind going, was to keep the little slimes that he spits out alive until I needed them to heal myself with LoH or had a bad poison cloud spawn and needed to bail by using FoT/Thunderclap to quickly get away.
I killed him probably almost a min after he enraged...but hey...I'll take it!
Also, is he still bugged?
