    difference between ilvls?

Ive ofc noticed that the higher ilvl the higher the base dmg/armor is on items. But does the ilvl also determines what properties an item can have and how many? When comparing like an ilvl 55 with an ilvl 63 it feels like the 63 one always get nicer properties or more of them. Pls fill me in on this

An item of higher ilvl has a higher pool of affixes to choose from, in that an ilvl63 item can roll 70-80 allres (for example, on a chestpiece) or any of the lower affixes, whereas lower ilvls have a lower 'ceiling' as it were - an ilvl62 item can roll 60-70 allres (or any lower value).

I understand that high ilvl items often cannot roll some or many low-value affixes.

    Ho ho!

    http://diablonut.incgamers.com/affixes

Basicly the iLvl has to be above the affix's level for it to be able to have it. (ofc it'll also need to be of the right item type)

It would be great if we could learn 2 more bits of info, but I suspect it'll be quite a while before we learn the following

    1) If you have an ilvl 63 item that is being generated with Life-On-Hit, what are the odds of getting the best version, vs the odds it won't have more than a lower ilvl item might have?

    2) Are all of the affixes equally likely.

If we knew these, we could calculate the exact odds for a particular item, which would be really useful if crafting ever becomes a valid moneymaker.

It would be easy, if we were allowed addons, to automate collecting huge amounts of data, to reverse engineer the formulas. Without that, we'd need a leak from Blizzard, or a seriously committed person taking data down by hand. If anyone DOES know this data, and I was too thick to notice, I'd love to hear it.

Gosh I wish I had that Reynolds. I bet it's there in the masses of data somewhere

I thought it was just highly unlikely.

It isn't exactly proof, but think about how common a 4-6% mf or gf affix is on low level items. Have you ever seen, say, an ilvl 50+ item with those? Or an ilvl 61+ weapon with only 2-3% ias? I haven't. Not on the AH or in my own games.

I recollect the developers talking about this at some point but I didn't keep any links nor do I know where I read about it. Also, keep in mind that some affixes have a range so large they can look like very low-level affixes. Others, like the aforementioned ias and mf, I've never seen on high level items.
