It's a fun build and works pretty well for most things. I found that Teleport is really needed for mobility-restricting packs like Waller (well, can be substituted with MI which also breaks freeze but that doesn't help with vortex). Anyway, run into this today... :wrists:
Shielded/Invulnerable minions is a lot more brutal for this build IMO.
Well lets face it, phase beast elites of really any kind are pretty nasty.
Well I had to resort to a crit build to solo inferno Rakanoth after dying too many times haha. I only had 16% crit chance and it still worked out with Deep Cuts and Twister getting the crits. However, with the 3 min aggressive timer on him now, I still needed Venom Hydra to add in most of the damage while I tried to keep him in one spot with Frost Nova. Now I bought more crit gear, perhaps try out Diablo tonight!
How much LoH should one aim for for this to start working?
LoH is nice, but not necessary. The idea with the build is to keep diamond skin up permanently. Yes, sometimes you do inevitably take damage, and LoH is nice for that, but it is hardly mandatory. What you really need is a high crit chance, fast attack speed, and good resists. Don't give up any of those things for LoH. I'd even put AP-on-crit as more important than LoH too (particularly if you're doing the star pact variation).
Finally did act3 yesterday. The tower was a huge pain in the behind. Interestingly the first two levels were much harder than anything later (maybe just a RNG thing). Cydaea was tricky but doable on the 3rd try with following build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XdO!agf!ZaZaZc
Took me about 10 minutes so long after enrage, but it was doable. Wave of Force turned out to be the key ability. Tried replacing it with Blizzard or Hydra but that didn't work for me. Meteor also turned out to be better than twisters. Note I had no AP per crit gear so your experience may vary.
Azmodan was a pushover, dead on 2nd try (yeah, I HAD to check how hard those fireballs hit).
Interestingly the wave of force setup turned out to be quite good for killing elites too. Might test it more today with a new offhand that has ap/crit.
My stats: 32k HP, 28k dmg, 940 physical resist and 5700 armor with prismatic armor, 38% crit with scoundrel, 730 life regen.
No AP-on-crit and no signature spell?
