I'm not playing very much at this point...
It was worth the $60, but a disappointment overall. The only thing that keeps my interest about it is that there's really no other games I'd want to play right now, so it's D3 or nothing.
YEAH!
Because I still have tons of fun playing it.
How to explain fun in a game? Well, it's the gameplay itself for me... the simple act of, hmn, be playing it.
I level a char of each class in parallel and shift gear between my chars as I go to advance through difficulties. Currently in nm on 4 chars and clearing all the content to get exploration achievements. I'm in no rush to grab stuff from the ah nor rush to inferno
I enjoy all the time i have put so far and my goal is to get all achievements and finish inferno with all classes
Well first of all I'm not playing anymore. I just log in once a day to check the AH and re-list items for a little bit of extra gold and every five or so days I still give it a go with my characters but I usually quit if my Wizard dies more than 3-4 times/if my barb dies/after 50 or so minutes if everything goes well.
But what Accaris said, especially the second part, is the main reason why I'd be playing the game and the main reason I still give it another shot from time to time.
*patiently waiting for the next patch*
absolutely owning everything defeats the purpose of the inferno difficulty, since it was added in to make the people that actually want a challenge end game happy. You can still smash face to your content in hell, which was the same level of difficulty in d2 (in terms of normal->nm->hell, not actual mob difficulty. But then, mob difficulty should not be an issue to complain about, as people want to smash them without even needing to think)
and that is why inferno is lvl60 only to play. it wasn't meant for people to roll through like hell in d2 EVER.
I hope blizzard still keeps that mentality for inferno.
IMO, for people that expect inferno to be easy, blizzard should have made inferno a separate mode, and make you understand when you go into that mode that hell mode was the real endgame for regular people and that inferno was only for people looking for a challenge. Then keep ilvl63 items off-limits to people that do not agree to this since hell mode act4 can only drop up to ilvl62 items. That way, people can still own like in D2, but people who want to have a challenge can have that option too.

The simple answer, it's still fun.
I still enjoy the item hunt and trying diffrent itemization/skill builds. Sure for late inferno some skills are more or less a given but i still think it's fun trying non optimal builds and after 1.0.3 item hunting in A1-2.
Game isnt over til i've beaten Inferno with all 5 classes, as well as dabbled in HC (havent tried it yet). Gonna be a long game for me. Just reached Act3 Inf on my wizard. My other 4 classes are made but all under 60 currently.
It's fun, it's addictive and I love hunting for better items.
Also, there is AH and RMAH which makes finding godly items all the more worthwhile.
