Hi there, not sure if this is the right spot to ask but:
I play with my friend's account - he has bought the game I haven't. He plays in Europe server I play on the America's. I want to try the money auctions. So I was thinking whether it is safe (and a good idea) to link my paypal account so I can get the cash into my bank account or is it too much of a risk and inconvenience especially since a battlenet authenticator has to be used.
Also if I buy the game later and decide to un-attach my paypal account from his battle net account is it possible to do?
Well, the real money auction house is tied to the "home" region that the game was purchased in; so if the game was bought in Europe, the only RMAH that can be used is the one in Europe, even though you can play in the America's region, and use the America's Gold AH, you cannot use the America's Real Money Auction House.
Assuming that isn't a factor, it is safe to attach the Paypal account, unless your friend has access to that account as well (and of course, that depends on the trustworthiness of the friend). You can remove the paypal account at any time, but be advised that sharing accounts violates the terms of service; I am not saying there is anything wrong with it, but Blizzard frowns on it.
thanks for the reply, as I guessed things are complicated and actually making it ... "better not risk it" type of venture. On the part of Blizzard's saying it's not ok to share and account like that. Actually I got myself into a bit of trouble because I went back (on the same laptop where I play through his account) and tried to play my starter edition through my own battle.net account and it said account was blocked due to suspicious activity. Was a bit frustrated because I didn't do anything suspicious at all except for playing on the same laptop but with different aco****s which should not be an issue since there was no hacking/ illegal action or even attempt at naughty behaviour and yet I was "suspicious". I had to change my password in order to get back in ... Blizzard paranoia I call this - too much of it.
Well, I was just hoping that me and him being really casual (playing 1 - 2 hours a day) would make it unnecessary to buy a separate copy ;( .
