they upgraded useast servers for us, and now we have connection interrupted fun

the title says it all, yet somehow there's no postings about it yet.

useast server hardware for old battlenet was upgraded, that was the downtime the other day.

well its back up, and presently people in the d2 chat are up in arms because rapid fire connection interruptions are presently going on.

personally i've resold the same rare crown from inventory on a given toon 5 times this afternoon before giving up trying 'til they sort things out.

bad night for muling or trading on east.

I wonder why they decided to upgrade now, after D3 is released isn't D2 supposed to die with it?

They are still doing ladder resets, so die is the wrong word. Left in the basement only to check up on it once ever 6 months seems more correct.

d2,war3,sc1,d1,etc all use the old bnet system and share servers according to the maintenance.

smaller cheaper to run hardware for the older bnet. they only transferred d2's useast so far is all.

the irony of course being they set it up as ustest for a while before doing the final push it to live for east, and even with just one realm for one of the games moved it's borked presently..

Last week I logged into D2 for the first time in 5 years to get my Diablo jollies, because D3 keeps bucking me, and now they messed this up as well. My games all crash within 5 minutes and every time I get rolled back to where I started. Feels like I'm trapped in Groundhog Day.

I'm really starting to resent Blizzard.

typical blizzard. wow opens a new instance, havoc ensues. patches or hardware maintenance/upgrades always progress in "blizzard-time", and usually need redo's shortly after completing.

seems there isn't enough input going out to them presently to get their attention that there is an issue.

having lurked in the mire of battle.net chat for a while, the connection interruption, failed to join, rollbacks, and fully dropped games are going on very very hardcore for everyone on east right now.

...

but noone seems to be able to get the attention of support over it, and thus far it has the appearance that they are unaware.

heck in searches related to it this thread is a top ten result for many a search engine, that's how little it's getting coverage/visibility outside chat.

search frequencies indicate many people are looking for more information about it, but few are posting.

Im a new player , i bought the game via blizzard store ,

I played 60 hours in the last 3 weeks then they made a server switch? fix? dunno what ..... and i keep getting connection interrupted .... it has become un-playable.....

the worse part is that my char is stuck on Bnet and i cannot join any other server with this character !!!

this really would make me think twice in buying D3
