So... when will we see the flood of ilvl 63 loot?

A lot of people speculated that when 1.03 came out, the market would crash and be flooded with higher level loot, thus making said loot much cheaper and easier to get for the average player.

I'm not seeing any evidence of it so far. Even with only a few days of farming post-patch, we should start seeing some ripples, right? In fact, it seems like there are even fewer decent items on the AH, especially on the RMAH. I spent an hour on the RMAH and couldn't find anything decent for under $10, of course that's subjective, but it just seems like there's less loot overall on the AH.

A result of the game dropping less level 60 loot overall, or something else?

Re: So... when will we see the flood of ilvl 63 loot?

Depending on your definition of "flood", I would say this weekend, starting around 9pm EST Friday.
Myself and the people I normally play with only usually end up doing 2-3hrs on a weeknight. On the weekend that could spike to 4-6 a day. My gut says there's a lot of people-with-jobs who are in the same boat where half their playtime or more occurs in that short window.

Now, the thing is, yeah the find rate is gonna double or triple... but that's doubling or tripling a rate of 1-2 ilvl 63 items per hour or some such.

But... If people only post their top ten items... now rather than it being one or two ilvl 63 items... Maybe it'll be five or six... Possible, the AH could shift to being half ilvl 63 for that reason...? I dunno.

Either way, tl;dr - my gut says there will start being a visible difference to trained-eye types like speculators late Friday, and it'll be a clear difference to farmers come end of Sunday. Casuals will, of course, not notice at all. They'll just think they're on a hot streak for good AH results.

I think it will still take a while. Just join public Inferno games and you'll see that many characters can't farm elites well, but they all still want to and are looking items to do it.
IMO the demand for the high end items that hasn't slowed at all. Stuff at reasonable prices shows up far too rarely and sells out far too fast for there to be any indication of saturation at the top end. That's driving both the gold and RMAH prices up and so what you expect to be able to buy with your money isn't there.

Not going to happend anytime soon.I farm Act 1 with 280 MF.Yes, i end up with 50-60 rares after 2 hours, but man, 99% of them are very good for vendors or they end up on the anvil.

The stats and affixes are so bad rng'ed and RMAh takes the very good ones, so i think there won't be a "flood" in next 2 months. Not of 63's anyway.

This is exactly what I was hinting at with my post. RNG is RNG yadda yadda, but it seems everywhere I look, people describe the same scenario: they farm Act 1, get about 30 rares a run, and every single one of them is garbage with very few exceptions.

I think there's something else going on here. I think Blizzard might have secretly toyed with item property generation to compensate for the mass amount of rares people are going to get with 1.03. Before the patch, a full Butcher/Warden run would net me at least something with a primary stat + vitality and a secondary stat that would sell on the auction house. Now, I'm getting way too many items that don't have primary stats on them at all.

This isn't just my anecdote. I'm seeing posts like this all over forums.

I think there isint a flood of good ilvl63 because they nerfed the loot. Blue posted, by Bashiok, aknowledges that the loots felt low since 1.03 and they would see what they'd do about it next week.

the drop rates in A3/A4 felt low; that doesn't mean they nerfed the loot. I've found some good items since the patch, but they were ones I could actually use, so I didn't sell em

Re: So... when will we see the flood of ilvl 63 loot?

Similar experience in Act1. After run inventory full of rares or most cases even more. Out of those max 1 lev 63 rare, most cases 0. Few ilev 62 and then around 5-8 ilev61, rest are vendor crap <59 level items.

So if you do runs about 10 hours and get 4-5 iLev 63 rares, what is chance to gain a good roll in 100 hours? I would say that you are very lucky if you gain 1 good item that would be worth something for player that is doing Act3/4. i personally haven't got a single usable item since leveling in over 180 hours and also most alt items are worthless cause you can get better from AH for less than 10k gold.

It just tells how pointless gold farming game D3 currently is.

I feel like, as a ratio, my good rares per ten rares is lower, but my good rares per hour is higher.
Your mileage may vary, but one question I have is; are the people with simply-worse results still doing Butcher runs? My group switched to full-clearing Fields of Misery.

Ever hear of the gambler's fallacy?
