Problems installing D2 for my brother - NEED HELP!!!

Last night i did the digital download off of blizzard website by entering the game cd key.

All went fine, got it downloaded then i had to register the game and it asked for a 24 (or 26 i cant remember) digit cd key from the game box but since ive ever known its only a 16 digit. What is it asking for?

As far as I know you get a new longer key when you register your game. That's the one you need to enter for the digital download. I haven't done it myself, just read about it in some troubleshooting thread. Hope that helps.

There are 2 CDkeys? 1 for D2 and 1 for LoD, I think.

When you register the game it generates new keys, these new ones must be used when installing. And two cd-keys yes.

you have your original CDs? Then copy every mpq file over. Might take an extra few minutes but it will be worth it. Copy them manually from install files. Both D2 and Expansion. I don't know which causes the issue, so just copy all.

Problem solved!!!!

I did what was suggested previously and just completely copied over the whole diablo 2 folder and then just ran it while a disk was in and taa-daa!!! it worked , thankyou guys, myself and my bro appreciate this
