Smiter is the least gear sensitive uber killer, but for it to work properly, it needs Crushing Blow, Life tap (either via a Life Tap wand or a Dracula's Grasp, Unique Elite gloves that has CTC life tap, leech from equipment don't work with smite), enough life, resists and attack speed to survive Mephisto's attacks (which is amplified with conviction) and fast enough to keep your life replenished extremely quickly.
It sounds like a lot to squeeze in, but in reality it isn't.
PS. This is under the assumption that you'd be smiting the bosses, for the mobs before getting to the lesser ubers (Lilith, Duriel and Izual), it's definitely better to go with something else. Zeal works well in this regard, especially since Smite and Zeal benefit from Fanaticism.

I'm guessing that was either a PvP Smiter or a noob or both. Smite is uninterruptible, auto-hits and ignores blocking, does a buttload of damage when you have Grief and yet a standard Zealot doesn't need to invest a single point anywhere to use it effectively. As long as you take care of the things outlined in the build (ctc Life Tap, Crushing Blow, resists and preferably Grief) then you're good to go and can still kill anything else effectively.
Definitely, I followed that guide and it worked extremely well. Grief definitely is well worth the cost, although I am biased towards the look on Phase Blades, which Death do not work well in due to how Grief and Death mods work.
im under ALL resistances :s tho i need some items, like the helm (using shako), armor (using nigma,got forti but i think nigma is better) or shield (got spirit)
what can i do? BTW are better water walkers against the gore raiders?
