Bashiok just tweeted again after checking his stats, he confirmed that Kripp and Krippi were in fact the first people to clear Inferno on Hardcore.

When you first started playing HC (regardless of game), did you have any SC experience in that same game? If so, did that SC experience make it "not true HC style" when you switched? If your answer to the first question is 'no', presumably you could ask the same questions about friends of yours. Practice is practice, regardless of how it comes.
No, you're very right about that. I play SC now and will eventually play HC. I played SC and then played HC on D2 also. This just feels different, not sure I can explain exactly why.Originally Posted by MoUsE_WiZ
Honestly my biggest peeve about the SC practice is that Bashiok claimed "most HC HC players practice in SC," when defending the used-to-be-required normal play through and I called BS on that statement. I still think the 'most' part is BS, but I'm annoyed to be proven even a little bit wrong. I also picked 5-6 months in the general forum poll before release, so today was a dose of double wrongness for me >_> I can think of several differences: parallel practice is not something normal people have time for, it's much more methodical than doing one followed by the other, and I can't understand how someone who has taken the HC plunge would want to spend any time playing SC. These are also reasons that D3 SC practice differs from prototyping via a character editor in D2. I think these differences make the act seem more like business than fun, but that's a different complaint. Plus I assume it was fun for them, so whatever.
It's funny how many people want to discredit them in any way possible (maybe not here specifically, more the internet in general). Maybe they don't play the game the same way as you but that doesn't mean it's not "true HC" or any of that crap. Even if you don't like him, d2jsp, powerleveling or whatever it just makes you look silly if that's the first thing you jump to when you hear that he took down Diablo.
