I don't know if it works for all DoTs but at least DH's Caltrops (with Jagged Spikes rune) deals damage based on the "damage" number displayed on your character sheet. This means that if you let Sharpshooter to raise your crit chance to 100%, your Caltrops traps deal a lot more damage. And the best part is that this doesn't trigger Sharpshooter to reset.
really? that's nice to know for when i caltrop things to death (first act 4 boss is a good example of this)
