    Level points

I was wondering if there is any reason to put points to energy or dexterity after a certain level. I use the chipped skulls in my helmet with 35 in energy and mana does not go very low. I also read that dexterity after a point is useless to increase.

Where do u put the points and after how many do u stop?

    Thanx

    Re: Level points

    Hi,
Str- Puts point till you reach the require str to wear your equipment
Dex- Depending whether you want to go for max block. If you are, add dex till 75%. Block also depend on your shield, it is recommended that you wear a high chance to block shield if you want to spent less dex. Eg of high chance to block shield: Stormshield, Hoz etc.
If you don't aim for 75%, just puts point till you reach the require dex to wear your equipment.
Energy- Most or if not all character should not be adding anything here. Spam mana potions, get mana regen, mana per kill equipent, got even socket sapphire to tide through earlier game. If you reach nightmare, get a bill and socket it for insight runeword and give it to your act 2 merc
Vitality: Maximum point should go here, so put whatever point you left into here, you cant go wrong.

    Re: Level points

If you have a class that deals physical damage, then you should put dex points!!
Id aim for at least a 85% chance to hit, where you are atm.

Remember that the higher level you have, the easier you hit lower lvl monsters.

    Re: Level points

I am talking about how much extra damage i do with Paladin or chance to hit. I am saying which of the 2 Dex or Str helps more to hit and do max damage. Even with a good weapon do u have problems with low dex?

    Re: Level points

If you have 80 str, you gain a 80%dmg bonus to your weapons base damage.
Same with dex, for ranged weapons(bows+xbows).

If you want damage, use a good dmg aura + dmg skill, and put some into strength.
If you want high damage, skills + a good weapon is key. Putting 100 points in Vita will save your as more often then a 100% dmg bonus from str.

As a Paladin, you should only get as much dex necessary to get a decent %chance to hit. It doesnt give you more damage with a melee weapon. Dex also gives you a better chance to block, but as you climb in levels, so will you need more dex to keep that %block up.

    Re: Level points

In case you didn't know: Holy Shield significantly increases your Chance to block, and thus significantly decreases the dex you need to achieve max block, so it is very important to have Holy shield up at all times.

Getting gear to add AR is more effective than adding Dex to get your AR up, every point in dexterity only increases your AR by 4 (which then gets multiplied by all other +% attack mods your skills have), so if you already have max block, dex is rather inefficient per point. Gear that includes a high amount of AR are Angelic Ring/Amulet combo (which adds 5 AR per level, per ring), Raven Frost (up to 250 AR, plus whatever the dex on the ring itself gives you), Zeal, Fanaticism all gives you a huge AR boost.

    Re: Level points

Its 5 attack rating/char lvl. And the Angelic combo gives each ring +12AR/char lvl.

    Re: Level points

About energy: there is no reason, even for mana-intensive classes to put a single point into that. +mana, mana regeneration, mana stealing (if you deal physical dmage) will always do the trick, and if not, there is always the Insight runeword (put it on merc A2, and it gives an insane manaregeneration aura).

    Re: Level points

With absolutely no eq, youd want some points into energy. Lets say 50 as base, the higher energy, the better regeneration from Insight.

Ive made several Sorceresses in SP, and they lack some mana even with Insight equipped. 30 base energy wont cut it, and adding pure mana wont increase the regen. (But potions will be more effective)
