Ai ignores merc (bug?)

Hi,

Playing a ranged char which uses her merc as tank I noticed something really strange. After fighting for a while, at some point 90% of the monsters (100% of the melee monsters) suddenly starts to ignore my merc and only focus at me. Actbosses and superuniques do not ignore my merc.
If i manage to block the path of the monsters with my merc, they dont attack my merc and just stand and die, if they find any possibility to attack me, then they will.

When I relog, the monsters become normal again and attack just whoever is closest (merc or me), sadly in a singlepass tournie, playing at p8 you cant relog every half an hour.

Does anyone know what causes this that ai completely ignors my merc? I tryed to google about it, but only got links to forumparts that dont exist anymore.

Ah, I posted to early and found out the cause by google afterall:

This is the "Ignore Merc" bug. If you move ahead too quickly, and your merc is forced to Teleport to catch up to you; then there is a chance the bug will trigger. To avoid it, don't outrun your merc. The only fix is S&E.

Nice to know how to prevent it and this explains why the first time I had this was at arcane sanctuary. I also read this bug can be abused so Baal doesnt decrepify your merc, so your merc can kill your immune targets faster if you are single element. Or abused even harder with act1/3 mercs.

From the title, I thought you were playing D3. But yeah, its been around in D2.
