Well, kinda...
I explore every nook and cranny just to see what it is like. Wondering how that impacts leveling, if at all.
I was wondering when most folks hit lvl 60, where were you? I just entered the tower on act three and am about half way through lvl 59. This is my main toon (closest is a lvl 9 monk).

Hit 60? I've been playing since the second servers went live and I'm 52 just started Hell. I have a 40 and two in their 30s in addition to a new lvl 11. That's taking your time. I'm having too much fun enjoying all the classes to obsess over having to get to Inferno so I can farm. Ugh.
My Wiz just hit 60 before the Rakkis Crossing, and my DH before that must have hit in early Act 3 as well (I forget where exactly, she's currently waiting for the next patch before starting Inferno). I just started a Monk as well; he's at Level 7 or 8, I think. I did full clears of each map along the way. I think the pre-release literature said something about hitting 60 by the end of Hell, but that may be without socketing rubies to get extra XP, or perhaps not being as thorough with wiping out evil. All my characters are solo and "softcore."
On my WD I hit 60 at the end on act3 when the game was released. My barb which I am currently playing the most was rushed before they nerfed the azmodan rushing thing and hit 60 in 5hrs then it took me a few days to get used to playing a barb LOL. When I 1st ran through I leveled slow and explored everything. And even now when I farm I like to explore and kill everything in a zone before moving on and that is the #1 reason I am looking forward to 1.0.3 since that will reward players like me vs boss runners.
I play Hardcore.
I stopped exploring the game at Hell/Act2/Maghda and then repeated the quest until I reached lvl 60.
It gave me the time to experiment various champion packs in the desert zone and perfect my gameplay with the dreadfull wasps
I resume advancing in the game after that.
But it's Hardcore, isn't it ?
I've got six chars, one level 14 that I use when I multiplayer with a friend, and five that I am simultaneously levelling up (four level 50s, and one level 55). I basically take turns taking them through a difficulty. I am on the final stages of Hell-difficulty Zoltun Kulle for the first time with a tank/mf/gf barb. He is exceptionally boring to play since Frenzy and Revenge are the only active damage dealing he does, but the gold and items he finds make it easier to twink my other chars and his rarely dying cuts repair costs.
I don't explore everything because I want some new stuff for Inferno, whenever I reach that. I don't rush because that just isn't fun, but I do think I am starting to burn out. That said, the game has been well worth its price and even if I do burn out, I am sure I will come back.
I only played my Barbarian until he was 60 and fairly well geared, it was 7-8 days after the game was released. A big part of this had to do with me playing with 3 friends for 2-3 hours every night. We had a WD, DH, Monk and I played the Barb. It was nice because we shared gear along the way.
Also one thing I do like about this game is that once you hit 60 its not over, I really like how the Nephlam buffs work and how it encourages you to run a section of the game and not 1 boss for gear.
