Hi there,
I can't for the life of me figure out how to assign the 4 and 5 skill slots to the right-side buttons on the SteelSeries Diablo 3 Mouse... the left side buttons work fine for 1/2 and the middle button works fine for the 3 as well, but I can't get the 4 and 5 skill slots to work (they remain as browser back/forward and ingame act as 1/2 skill slots as well).
Anyone with the same problem? Is there some magic involved in this?
You can create macros and assign numbers to the buttons. In other words, if you press button 4, you "type" 4.
Then assign skill 4 to the number 4. The game won't know a difference if you're using the keyboard to press 4 or if you're using the mouse to press 4.
I'm very sorry for confusing explanationbut short answer: I'm using macros.
You can usually assign those buttons to "button" in the mouse software, or something of that nature. You sometimes have to change the default assignment.
Just a word of caution: I would advise everyone against buying this mouse. I have been through two steelseries xai (it's the same mouse without the graphics) and both have had issues with the most basic of mouse functions..Clicking. One of them thought it was always clicking like 100 times/sec forever, and its replacement frequently doubleclicks on a single click, or gets a mushy non-click.
I've been using computers more than 25 years and the Steelseries Xai is both the best (performance) and worst (value/quality issues at price) mouse I've ever owned.
