Hi,
Just my input, your barb is FAR from salvaging.
My advice is use the EHP calculator http://rubensayshi.github.com/d3-ehp-calculator to buy new items, with the aim of maximising EHP rather than stuff like "res to at least 900" or "need stormshield"
I got information from this post which really changed the way i looked at my barb (after reading it, i sold almost every piece of equipment i had and bought all new, maximising EHP)

So far i have spent around 1,5-2m gold on my barb, but by selling my old equip (lots of res gear) i actually made money from it.
As of now i am sitting at around 1,9 million EHP with 0 LOH and with a shield with less than 15% block. I can do 60-70% of the packs in act 3 while before i could get only 2-3 hits from white mobs in act 3.
Try it! let me know if you need more explaination
I find the idea of no life per hit and instead maxing EHP for more revenge and furious charge healing rather interesting. If 100k HP and 1k to all resists is enough to survive with 0 life per hit, then maybe it is indeed the cheaper option to get a tank through inferno. I'm seriously considering that option before I give up on my barb (because I don't feel like farming the extra gear needed just to barely get through act 3/4).
I am sitting around 2.1 to 2.2m EHP, i can tank almost everything (apart from firechain and molten elites)in the arreat crater in act 3 with 0 LOH and keeping alive with revenge and dreadnaught. I am however hitting a roadblock as my damage is rather poor (less than 7k) so i am trying to upgrade strength now...pricey and can only play in public games (demon hunters and wizards love me). oh and i am using a 11% block shield.
I feel if i reach 14-15k dps and keeping my current EHP (+- 200k) i should be comfortably soloing 5 stacks

I was originally really excited and pleased in this topic. I surpassed my roadblock in Act 2, and I entered into Act 3 with hope for the future. There's no hope for a 2-h barbarian in Act 3... the disparity between melee and ranged in this game is just laughable. What's a Barbarian to do?
