So right now it seems my gear is horribly lacking. I was told to stack vitality and intelligence. But it still seems my dps is low and i die every time a champion farts...
I would like to know what stats on each piece of gear i should look out for for survivability in hell mode.
btw my build is
energy armor - energy tap
diamond skin - crystal shell
magic weapon - force weapon
archon - pure power
electrocute - lightning blast
disintegrate - chaos nexus
If you're high enough level swapping your energy armor rune to force armor should help a lot.
You want attack speed where you can get it (rings, ammy, gloves), as that is a big damage boost, otherwise you want int, vit, resist all.
Your build seems rather stand-and-burn. Hell is where you first start to realize kiting might help (and inferno a2 and onward is where you pretty much have to), so you might consider that altering your build, rather than your gear, could be a way to stop dying.
Another way to up your DPS, if you're the sort who doesn't mind twinking off the AH, would be to buy a level 60 weapon with -level requirement on it. When you search in the AH, put in level 60-60 for the level of the weapon, but choose -6 level requirement (or whatever number gets it down to your current level) and then under maximum buyout put however much you're willing to pay (100k should get you a very one that will last into a1 inferno). A 500 dps 1h weapon solves a lot of problems in hell difficulty.
I think force armor is pretty much necessary as you advance through higher difficulty levels. I'd say get roughly twice as much intelligence on your gear as vitality and fit in "all resist" and physical resist as you can.
Attack speed stacking is going to be nerfed in the next patch. I've started switching out some AS gear for critical chance/damage.
As magicrectangle said kiting is necessary on inferno. Get the highest damage 2 handed weapon you can, preferably with other mods like intelligence, vitality, critical damage. While you are running you won't be doing much casting so the two-handers are more efficient for damage purposes. At least until you can get an uber one handed weapon and source.
This depends on the build. If we're talking blizz/hydra then just go whatever is the most damage, AP efficiency is a non-issue. Fast weapon, slow weapon, whatever. If we're talking arcane orb or something then maybe a slow 2h is better for the AP efficiency. I like fast weapons for kiting just because so many abilities are tied to weapon swing timer in terms of their cast speed.
You could farm gold quickly and then buy one of those blue high dps (800+) one hand weapons. Then the rest of your gear just go +Int and +VitShould be no problem in hell
