If Germany loses and Portugal wins, Denmark and Portugal will qualify and Germany is out because of the wicked scoring rules, except they lose 3-4 or something like that. If Holland wins or plays draw, Germany is qualified, no matter what else happens. The same if Germany wins or plays draw. Denmerk and Holland cannot qualify at the same time, again because of the wicked scoring rules, but I'm not 100% sure.

Hmmm. If two teams are tied for points, the team with the better record head-to-head with the other team has precedence, regardless of scoring records. But what of three teams on the same points?

If Germany loses and Portugal wins, they both share six points each with Denmark. Denmark beat Germany but lost to Portugal.Germany beat Portugal but lost to Denmark. Portugal beat Denmark but lost to Germany. So I guess it is down to goal differences as there is no clear advantage head-to-head for any of the three teams. So I can hope for Denmark and Holland both to win 6-0 each

Then the difference of goals decides. If that's equal as well, it's the amount of shot goals. Beyond that, I don't know.

In the end the two best teams got through. Holland quite disappointing (fortunately for us ). Checz seem somewhat easier now but anyone remembers 1996 and Poborsky?

For tonight Spain and Italy to go through but Croatia also looking very nice...

England haven't lost yet, but haven't played well either. I'm not optimistic about the Italy match on Sunday.
