so the video feed just goes solid blue screen for a couple seconds then pops back to the sound of thunder as lightning continually strikes near the stadium and the match is suspended, that was kind of crazy

Yep, crazy bible weather. They've finished the first half now. The England/Sweden match will be delayed a quarter of an hour as a result.

I prefer it when England play Norway, cos then I can yell, "Hey! Hey, Swedes!" and then someone can tell me, "They're Norwegians, Mac." ...

Hey, it's a thing, you know? I'm sure you have a thing too ... maybe the same one.

How on Earth do you choose which football match to watch, between Portugal v Holland, and Denmark v Germany? How?

I will watch Denmark vs. Germany, of course, but non-Germans better watch the other game. I guess Germany will win, so Holland and Portugal will probably make up the second place among themselves.

You are probably right, Kris. The only comfort I can derive is that if Germany lose, Portugal cannot progress.

I will root for Denmark and Holland as originally planned, but I am still holding out hope that Germany will default on its loans, become bankrupt and get points deducted.

If Germany loses and Portugal wins, Denmark and Portugal will qualify and Germany is out because of the wicked scoring rules, except they lose 3-4 or something like that. If Holland wins or plays draw, Germany is qualified, no matter what else happens. The same if Germany wins or plays draw. Denmerk and Holland cannot qualify at the same time, again because of the wicked scoring rules, but I'm not 100% sure.

A few days ago, Germany could sell bonds for negative interests again, so the chances for that are even lower than the scenario in which Germany will be out
